Ok forgive me if this has been asked before, but if I'm purchasing park tickets, separate from my on site reservation, can I buy a one day hop ticket and then a 6 day base ticket?

I'm trying to get 7 park days and hop one day, without paying to hop all days... but I don't know if that's allowed...

A one day park hopper (depending on what park you are going to) is around $145.

A 7 day non-hopper ticket is $335.

A 7 day park hopper, good for all 7 days is $392.

Wow... Ok I thought it was much more than that to add hopper to all days!

But I'm sure Disney will gladly take your extra money if you want to buy tickets separately. ;)

Park hopping is applied once to your ticket, for the same cost no matter how many days.
Much better for you to add it to your 7 day ticket, then to pay the extra cost of a one day with hopping

I'm not sure of the exact number, but I think it is around $65 per ticket to add hopping. It is the same price for any ticket over 1 day, I think.

The price is the same if you add it the first day of vacation or the last. :)

This! ^^ You CAN add it when you need it. So if you think there's a possibility you might not hop, then you can buy base tickets and know that any time you do want to hop you can always upgrade the tickets right then.

If you end up not hopping you won't have spent the money.

The reverse isn't true. You cannot remove the hopper portion if you don't use it.
