Park Hopping and Dining Reservations

Looking on Disney's site to get an idea of what is open and closed for dining. Started thinking. They state that you must have a park reservation for an in park dining reservation. If you are going to be hopping, you don't get the afternoon park reservation until you are ready to hop. How is that going to work for people who want to eat dinner in a park they are hopping to. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems that it makes it more difficult to plan an ADR if you don't know if you'll be able to hop into a park until 2 pm the day of.

In normal times when they close a park they do it in phases, one of the last groups to deny entry is people with dining reservations. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case with park hopping but I don't know for certain. Interesting too hear what happens next moth or if someone has concrete info.

Probably have to wait until you get inside your 2nd park to make ADR. Probably won’t have availability for MK or HS TS restaurants but will work for some Epcot restaurants

It was wording more for a warning for the time period prior to hopping. It was to protect Disney from people booking dining and then not having a park reservation and complaining. When hopping comes back after the new year, there won’t be park reservations for the second park (or 3rd or 4th). You only make a reservation for that first park, and you MUST enter that first park. Then after 2pm, you can hop to other parks that have availability (which will be any park as even HS on a day they hit capacity has freed up after 2pm and this is after the holiday crush).

You’ll be able to book dining for a park you’re hopping to, you just may not be guaranteed to get into that park, but you’re assuming the risk. I have a dining reservation for next month for Epcot on a MK day because we plan on hopping into Epcot in the afternoon. No issues booking the ADR.
