Is it possible to upgrade a basic 7 day park ticket to a hopper for one day only on the day of? We may want to hop on one of our days only mid week. Is this doable? thank you so much in advance. :)

I'm not entirely sure, but I think as long as your ticket is not part of a package, you would be able to upgrade on site. We have found in the past that if you want to hop for one day just turn your seven day into an 8 day. It's esier and most times cheaper. :flower1:

No, the park hopper option is an all or nothing deal. For a 7 day ticket it costs about $60 to make it a park hopper, whether you hop one day or all seven.

Nope, adding days onto a ticket does not allow you to visit more than one park in day. The only way to visit more than one park in one day is with a park hopper.

That is what I meant to say, the 8th day add on would have to be a park hopper, we just did this recently, I shouldn't have assumed everybody would know what I meant, my bad

What if you just walked up to the second park and bought a one day ticket? It wouldn't be linked to the first one. Would that work?

You could do that, but it's more expensive than just adding hopping to your ticket.

Agreed! You'd be better off just adding park hopper to your tickets. It's only $60+ per person- much less expensive than buying a day ticket...and you would have have hopper benefits the other days too in case you change your mind.

I think what ptnia is saying is that if you only want to hop one day, just stay an extra day and go to the park you were planning on hopping to on day #8 as adding an extra 1 park day is cheaper than hopping. :)

But then you would need an extra day's lodging, which certainly isn't going to be cheaper than adding on a hopper.

Just work an extra shift and add the hopper to your package. It well worth the freedom of choice while you're there. With all the crazy dining we do we have to have it.

To not leave that statement hanging...
whether your ticket is or is not part of a package... you can upgrade it on site.

I'm still don't know what you mean.
What did you purchase as an add-on?
Did you add an extra day to your tickets... AND stay an extra night at WDW to use that extra visit the next day?

You absolutely cannot do this.

You absolutely can do this. We did this just this past March, and My boyfriend is doing it again this trip in July. No one can tell you how to use the days you purchase on your ticket. As a matter of fact as recently as 3 weeks ago a CM on The Reservation line double checked for me that we were still able to do this. If you want to visit two parks in one day, and your ticket is not a hopper, it will simply use two separate days on your base ticket. We have done this multiple times. That is what @ptnia was trying to say. I know this, because she is my mother :). She may be new to the boards, but is certainly not new to all things Disney! haha Hope this clears up all of the confusion. It is cheaper to add an extra day on to your base ticket (not stay an extra night at disney world) if you're only going to park hop one day, rather than adding on the park hopper to your ticket since you don't need it every day.

Thank You @Greeny T That is what I was trying to say. Sorry for any confusion!

Not sure how you did this. Disney World's website clearly states that a multi day base ticket allows you admission to any one theme park per day :

Copied from the Disney World site:
Multi-day tickets are valid for admission to any one of the 4 theme parks per day.

You are the first person I've ever read that was able to do this. As you say, it is much cheaper than adding the Hopper option, so WDW does not allow it. We tried it (not understanding the rules) and were clearly told that it was not allowed - the base tickets can only be used at one park per day. Interesting that you have been able to do it multiple times.

I did not know this was against the rules either, as I said earlier, we've done it before. But I'm surprised we were not only successful in doing this, but that the CM that I was referring to earlier actually checked on this, and said it was absolutely fine. Even though we've done this in the past, I'm a little concerned now that either something has changed, or at least is being enforced now. I have an AP, but my boyfriend has a 5 Day Base Ticket. We're only hopping one day, and staying 4 days, so we put this into action. I'm going to have to call back and re-check again if he's going to have an issue. That would certainly stink to get there and find out he can no longer do this :/. I'll keep everyone posted after I speak to someone!
