Park Hopper ticket question..

They tell people that pretty often, actually.
I can't confirm this, but it never ceases to amaze me what people say a CM told them. It would be pretty comical if people weren't basing their (sometimes expensive) vacation decisions on this information.

The only way I can answer this is... you must be mistaken.
There is no other possible answer.

(Oh, I guess you might have happened to be there on a day that all of the entrance computers were down, but you'd certainly have known that if it were the case, due to the "pandemonium at the gates.")

Agreed.

Thank you @Alesia. We didn't have Park Hoppers attached. I absolutely would've known this. I plan our vacations down to the last drop. I'm super OCD about it, and always have all my ducks in a row which is why this is surprising to me. But one thing I'm CLEAR AS DAY about, is the conversation I had with the CM just a few short weeks ago. Obviously I had some wrong information about the tickets though.

Guess I've just missed all those posts then!

I've seen the weekly post from someone asking this exact question. I see the tons of responses all saying, no, you can't. Never saw "Well, the CM told me..." Guess I just haven't been reading the right threads!

But at least we can all agree it's a no-go and no one gets into the park this way!!!

Just funny that one person out of the thousands and thousands on DIS thinks they're able to do something that absolutely no one else can! An expert on Disney would know that no one can enter any two parks on the same day without a hopper. There must have been a hopper attached to the ticket that you were unaware of. That's really the only possible explanation.

And although I've heard all sorts of crazy things from the CMs on the phone, I find it hard to believe they'd tell you this was okay. My guess is there was some major miscommunication going on there somewhere.

None of that is what I said. You should go back and read all the posts and responses before saying something like that. I'm certainly not claiming I can do anything other people can't. I've been basically agreeing with what you everyone is saying. There was a glitch somewhere. The CM I spoke with was clearly beyond misinformed which happens more often than not unfortunately. Clealry a mistake was made somewhere. That doesn't mean I'm not knowledgable about Disney. That's just silly. Im shocked at how many responses this is getting. As I said before you live and learn, I'm just gonna get my boyfriend and AP like the rest of us and be done with it :).

You absolutely can do this. We did this just this past March, and My boyfriend is doing it again this trip in July. No one can tell you how to use the days you purchase on your ticket. As a matter of fact as recently as 3 weeks ago a CM on The Reservation line double checked for me that we were still able to do this. If you want to visit two parks in one day, and your ticket is not a hopper, it will simply use two separate days on your base ticket. We have done this multiple times. That is what @ptnia was trying to say. I know this, because she is my mother :). She may be new to the boards, but is certainly not new to all things Disney! haha Hope this clears up all of the confusion. It is cheaper to add an extra day on to your base ticket (not stay an extra night at disney world) if you're only going to park hop one day, rather than adding on the park hopper to your ticket since you don't need it every day.
Good luck with that. It CANNOT be done.

So you weren't saying you had used two different days worth of tickets on the same day to get into two different parks? That's how I read it. Just add another day and use that the same day as another ticket and no need for park hoppers. Well, if you're claiming you've done this many times in the past, as recently as last March, you indeed are claiming to do something no one else here is able to do! The system does not allow that. It just doesn't. Not even talking about what you were told on the phone, but what you claimed you had done.

That is what she said, but it appears she now understands that this is not something that is allowed, or typical. I think in her original postings, she was just just innocently relating what has been her experience, but she didn't know the policy on this. This thread has cleared that up.

I have a different Park Hopper question - we have used them before but didn't see the need this time because we don't plan on really using them. However because of the free dining promotion we added it because it still saved us a big chunk on our dining plan. We will be there for 9 days but only purchased 7 tickets because of the last travel day and we are taking a lounging at the hotel day in the middle. Because of the middle "day off" will this affect the park hopper since it is 7 day park hopper, i.e will it expire after 7 days or do we still have until the end of our reservation to use it? Sorry if this seems kind of confusing I hope you can tell what I am asking lol

I *think* the tickets expire 14 days from first use.
