Park Attendance

I've been hearing from a lot of people on here and friends who have been to Disney recently (and in the past) that the lines are so much longer. It doesn't seem to matter when from January through now and these are people who have been at the same time of year in previous years. Many are accusing the new FP+ system, but I'm curious, where can we find statistics on actual number of guests in each park each day compared to previous years? Are those numbers up? Are more people going to Disney than in the past few years? There must be a way to compare this. Thanks.

My understanding is that Disney will not release actual attendance numbers (or even what park capacity actually is, although I think those figures have been worked out in the past and posted).

The average waits have increased. The amount of guests in the park has risen. There isn't a down season any more; that's been fully taken over with the 'extra' festivals (Flower in spring, Food in fall).

I've been at the parks on capacity days, when the entrances have literally been closed for new entry. *sigh* It was an eye opening experience. And an ear-drum-shattering experience. (New Year's Eve, 2005.)

A simple rule of thumb is paying attention to American school system holidays, typical weather patterns, and avoiding the EMH parks on those days.

As PP said Disney doesn't release that info, but you can get crowd info at easywdw and on touringplans.com.

Touring plans release the expected crowd level and the actual one. The week we were there in February end up being busier than expected everyday.
