I hope someone can help me although I do realize this is a DLP forum....

I was thinking of purchasing the Paris Museum Pass for myself which "may" save money but also allows you to skip some lines in some museums......

My daughters are under 18 and the places I have thus researched state they get in free.....

Will there be a problem with them going in side entrances (Louvre) and skipping lines in places since technically they have not purchased this ticket?

Hope this makes sense to anyone who can help.

Thank you.

This is not an answer to the main question, but we used the Museum Pass a few days ago at the Louvre and didn't use the side entrance. We asked where we were supposed to go and were told to enter via the security check at the pyramid or the Carrousel de Louvre. From there we were able to enter the museum from directly below the pyramid (like all of the other ticket holders).

So in the case of the Louvre, you might not have a problem because you'll be using the normal entrances; unless they use the different entrance during busier periods of the year.

In 2008 we bought tickets for the Louvre at the RER station and were told to get in from a side door. We got into ok with my then 15 years old son who did not pay and did no queue at all :thumbsup2

We just returned from Paris and used the Museum Pass last week.

We found that is was easiest to have the pass out as we approached the museum because we didn't know when we would need to show them. At larger venues such as the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay there were information people outside the entrances who saw our passes and told us what to do. At the Orsay we were directed to an entrance on the other side of the building.

We visited the Louvre twice and used 2 different entrances because we were told to go in the nearest entrance. You first pass through security and are then funneled into the area under the glass pyramid where there are ticket booths, shops, restaurants, information desk, etc. From there you decide which wing of the museum you wish to visit and it is only when you enter your chosen wing that you need to show the Museum Pass so your daughters aren't going to have any problem entering the museum.
