It is interesting that this topic came up because I was just thinking about it last night! DD is in 8th grade, and they do not have anything planned. When DS was in 8th grade (5 years ago) he went to Washington D.C. and really enjoyed the trip. DD couldn't wait until her turn, but I guess it isn't going to happen. They do spend the day at Six Flags over Great America in Illinois the day after the graduate from 8th grade, but they have always done this, and they have no overnight trips planned. It is a shame that these trips had to be cancelled, although I can understand the shcool's concern.
