CABANA BAY BEACH RESORT Thread..........

I’m thinking of Cabana Bay for October. Are the standard 2 queen rooms close to lobby? I don’t care about view. Are they all interior entrance?

I think the standard rooms are all interior entry, they're in the 2 long buildings to the left of the lobby, towards the towers adjacent to Volcano Bay. Pool side means that your room will be on the "pool/lazy river/courtyard" side of the hall, otherwise you will be on the side that faces out. Distance to lobby depends greatly on the individual room regardless of view. Luck of the draw. Most everyone wants to be near the lobby so not sure how much good it does putting in a request for that. FWIW, one time I was literally 2 doors from the lobby elevator and I do not make room requests.

Volcano Bay view rooms are down in the towers and they are the furthest from the lobby - I can't recall off the top of my head if VB rooms are standard rooms or not. I have read that VB view rooms can be pretty noisy when VB is open.

I have twice been in standard rooms in the towers at the far end of the pool. They face the pool side rather than the VB side. It's a bit of a hike. I tend to arrive early in the day, potentially I could have waited longer for a closer room to be ready, but I don't mind the walk.

Is there one of those pull out magnifying mirrors in the bathroom in the family suites? I can’t see any in pictures but I can’t find pics that show both sections of the bathroom clearly.
Thanks!

We've booked two standard rooms and requested connecting. Since they don't guarantee connecting like Disney does when kids outnumber adults, how many days prior should I call to reconfirm/double check/ask for gty? We more than likely won't arrive to the hotel until 7-7:30 pm on a Friday so my odds aren't the best upon arrival...

Rooms are allocated about 5/6 days out, so a week before would be good to call for your request.

Good luck, hope you get what you need :)

Quick question, we have two rooms a family suite with exterior and a standard room. Any chance they would be near each other. I requested it but they had no idea if it was even possible and if course no guarantee. Thank you for your help

Exterior access family suites are by the Courtyard pool and standard rooms (all interior corridor access) are on the other side of the resort near the lazy river pool. Ther are no exterior access standard rooms.

If you want the option of a family suite and a standard room near each other, you would need to change your family suite to Interior OR get two exterior family suites.

Might plan a last minute trip to UO, and looking at CB for a few nights, in a family suite. We stayed there 1 night in 2022, in a regular room, but never a suite.
So, what kind of coffee pot is in the family suite? is it a Keurig style that takes pods? or another style that takes the packets? I watched a few videos, looks like packets, but videos are all from several years back.
I enjoy morning coffee in the room, and I often bring a travel Keurig just in case, and my own coffee pods. I was hoping not to have to pack the coffee maker if I could help it. I also have my own packets I bring, but prefer pods. Thanks!
also, where would the family suites exterior facing (non pool view) and interior views be located? like any certain building?
Thanks!

Can't help with the coffee maker, but there are 2 categories of family suites (interior entry and exterior entry) and from your question I'm not sure which you are asking about. Both categories have pool view and non-pool view I think. All the exterior entry suites are on one side of the resort (Skylight, Castaway, and Thunderbird buildings). They are either pool view or parking lot view. See map link below. The interior entry suites are scattered among the 2 long buildings on the other side (Castaway and Americana).

Difference to consider - the exterior entry suites have the windows in the living area, and the interior entry suites have the windows in the bedroom area.

Thank you for the response! That's what I wanted to know. Which buildings had interior/exterior suites. I"m leaning toward interior if they're still available.
