Most schools around here used to go to Washington D.C. for their class trip. Now they have cancelled them and I was wondering where your kids class will be going. My son is going to Plymouth MA next week and to Boston on an overnighter in the Spring.

Our 8th graders go to Chicago for an overnight.....they've been doing this for years.:D

My nephew, who lives in CT, was supposed to go to DC last fall. They went in the spring instead and stayed in Baltimore.

Our eighth graders don't do a trip. (Both of my 2 are in high school now.) I am envious.

I went to NYC (day trip) when I was in 8th grade... (back in 1984). .. We went to the WTC...

My son went to Washington DC last year for his 8th grade trip. I expect that the current 8th graders are going this year. Our HS have a break this week and many groups went to Europe and some went to Canada and Costa Rico.

It is interesting that this topic came up because I was just thinking about it last night! DD is in 8th grade, and they do not have anything planned. When DS was in 8th grade (5 years ago) he went to Washington D.C. and really enjoyed the trip. DD couldn't wait until her turn, but I guess it isn't going to happen. They do spend the day at Six Flags over Great America in Illinois the day after the graduate from 8th grade, but they have always done this, and they have no overnight trips planned. It is a shame that these trips had to be cancelled, although I can understand the shcool's concern.

Both my kids went to Charleston, SC for the eighth grade trip and the barrier islands for 5th grade. Great places for both trips!!

Course, nothing beats out the chorus trips to Disney!!! Next trip is January 2004!!
