For this trip, DH and I decided to get an in-room sitter one night so that we can have a night out to ourselves. Any suggestions on what we should do?

Are you staying on-property?

I know AKL has on-site facilities...

1. I am so jealous!

2. I would go to one of the signature restaurants or maybe Le Cellier and have a nice dinner then watch teh fireworks together. Find one of the photographers if you're at MK who take picture of you kissing with the fireworks in the background

Have a great trip and a fun night out!

We're staying at CBR.
Okay... but can you get to AKL? Or Poly? Or GF, WL, or Y&BC? They all offer facilities for on-property resort guests. You'll need a car or some way to get your kiddos there, and a way to pick them up.

There is also Kid's Nite Out, they are a non-Disney service that comes to your resort room and watches your kids there. I do believe that your kids are quarantined to the resort room, i.e., they won't take your kids to the pools, they won't take them for food, they won't take them to resort playgrounds, and they won't bathe them. (From what I remember from another old Dis'er who used the service.)

Kids Night Out?? Sounds like Kids Night IN:rotfl: ! I'm sure they must plan fun activities for the kids in the rooms. Anyone know what they do with them all evening?

Supposedly, they come loaded with toys, books, games, etc.

The OP who posted about it here said she had brought their Xbox along anyways, and the kids played that most of the evening.

Kids' Nite Out is indeed more Kids' Nite In, although they can take their charges around the resort (but not to any pool, nor can they go to the theme parks). We've used them a couple of times, and the sitters arrive with a literal suitcase full of activities.

My wife and I almost always take our trips with other family members or friends. Therefore, we can organize some nights where one of us stays back at the hotel while the kiddos sleep, and then the others can enjoy some time out at night.

We always try to get one night out just the two of us as well. We usually hit up and Evening EMH and do all the big kid rides, and grab a big kid beverage. A night out in the parks is also a great time to slow down and enjoy how amazing and different each park is at night. It really is a different experience than what you get during the day.

Definitely Boardwalk, it's all lit up at night and gorgeous.. You can have dinner at Flying Fish, Kouzzina's (sp?), or Big river Grill. We enjoy dinner at Big River Grill on the patio area, people watch and then we will watch some of the entertainers (jugglers, magicians) and have some kind of dessert at Boardwalk Bakery. If we have extended family with us we may stop into Atlantic Dancehall for a bit.

Another one of my favorites is going over to the Polynesian and having dinner at Kona and then going out on the beach and sitting in a lounge chair and watching the fireworks at MK.

Jellyrolls, without a doubt! So much fun!
