Parasailing/Tipping Question

The title pretty much says it all. Is it customary to tip the driver/operator when you go parasailing with Sammy Duvall? And, if so, how much? I plan to go next month, and I just want to make sure I do the right thing.

We have gone out w/ Sammy Duvall's 4 times in the past - 3 times on inner tubes and 1 time for parasailing. We have always tipped, and have noticed others doing the same.

I was never sure how much we were supposed to tip (so please don't flame me), but we tipped a minimum of $20. We have also tipped well beyond that, when the driver let us stay out longer than we were supposed to, or when they tried hard to meet my children's requests as to how fast they wanted to be pulled behind the boat on tubes. THe time we parasailed, we had two Duvall employees in the boat with us and tipped them both.

I have always gotten the vibe that tipping was expected by the drivers at Sammy's. In reading some of the websites now that address tipping, it seems that most sites recommend 15-20%, where some sites say between 10-15% for instructor/guide-type services.

We also tipped our driver, 20%. They did let us stay out just a bit longer, and were SO great with my son. Really a professional operation. Great memories of that trip!

It was a few years ago, but if memory serves well (it is slowing down, LOL), I think we tipped 20.
