I'm a DVC member and will be using points for our 2-night stay at Disneyland...the points for a standard view at either hotel (Paradise Piers or Disneyland Hotel) is only a difference of 1 point....in your honest opinion, which would you choose to stay at for 2 nights (there will be 4 adults and a 2 yr old...walking not an issue for any of us).
Thanks!

I have never stayed at PP. I have stayed at DLH and while I like GCH a lot better, I can say that the room size at DLH is generous. If you are all going into one room, it will give you space.

thanks! you bring up a good point....i was originally thinking 2 rooms, but if there's plenty of room for all of us in 1, maybe we'll do that.

I've stayed in all three and for your case, take the DLH.

Tell the Lost Bar staff I said hello!

Having stayed at both, I would agree the DLH is your best bet. Ask for a room with two queen beds and a day bed, they are larger rooms. The grounds are nicer, more food options, and better pools.

I posted over on your DVC thread and want to stress again, if you are doing one room, go with the DLH! I have stayed there six times in the last five years (most recent in January) and I have stayed there on points. I really enjoy it. Love GCH too, but miss the grounds, Disney touches and pool area of the DLH. And the rooms while very nicely appointed are small. They do have balconies.

I love using points at DL. Daily maid service, free interent access (which you get at all DVC resorts now at long last) and given the rack rates its a good deal. Especially for GCH. The cash difference between the DLH and GCH is vast. Points wise its not that much.

If you can stand to be in the same room, go with a view room at the DLH. You'll be guaranteed either a daybed or a rollaway (which are actually more comfortable than the daybeds for adults imho). At the GCH if you don't get a daybed, you get a sleeping bag. Rollaways are free too which is nice. If you decide to do two rooms, than the GCH is wonderful. And again, a great deal on points given its high rack rates.

If you stay at the DLH, be sure and check out the GCH its lovely. If you go with DLH, likewise check out the cool grounds of the DLH, I love the fountains and Koi ponds and my kids love the remote control boats at the DLH. So does my husband!

I also want to stress that while I love the DLH, its not the same feel as the WDW deluxe's. The DLH wasn't built by Disney so you don't have that wow factor in the lobby. The GCH you do, but you have smaller rooms and very little in the way of grounds. There's a courtyard and that's about it at the GCH. The DLH does have some grounds, nothing as expansive as the WDW resorts however. I never feel a bit jipped at DL, in the parks or the hotels but I do always just like to tell people to expect it to be wonderful in a different way.

thanks!!! i read your post on my other thread too....but i just read this post just in time....i just got off the phone w/ my sister and we're going to share a room. we were going to consider GCH, but if DL has more space, and the monorail has a stop there, I think DLH will be perfect for us on this trip.

thanks again!!
