We'll be staying at PP the first week in December. I see from the official DL web site that the rooms have a coffee pot. What kind is it? A pod or a 'real' pot? If a pod, I'll need to pack my travel coffee press. I can't stand pod coffee. And does anyone know if they have rooms on the first floor? DH and I will be using 2 ecvs so a ground floor would make accessing room so much easier. Yes, I know we can use the elevators but I can see where that can become a big hassle.

I can't wait to go! DL during the holidays is a bucket list thing for me!!!

I haven't stayed at the PPH in quite some time, but last time I was there it was a pot, not a pod. Hopefully someone who has stayed more recently can chime in.

As far as I know, there are no rooms on the first floor. I think the lowest floor you can get is the 3rd floor (which is the floor with the pool). The first floor has the table service restaurant, the little cafe/bar/coffee bar, front desk, gift shop, arcade and movie room. 2nd floor is the ballrooms and concierge room. There may be rooms on the 2nd floor...I am not 100% sure. Hope that helps!

We stayed there last year and it's pod style. The kind where you can brew a single cup or two cups side by side.

We stayed there last week and it is still a pod style which allows you to brew 2 cups (pods) at a time. Twice, unfortunately, mousekeeping didn't replenish our pods (without asking).

Have a wonderful trip!

i wish they had regular ol' coffee makers. I bought a $19 small stainless steel metal carafe coffee maker at Target about a year ago and bring it with us. It only makes about 2 coffee cups worth at a time, but it's the same amount as the pod and I get to make some strong Peet's coffee!!

Disneyland at Christmas time is AMAZING! We went this last December for the first time! Don't forget to check out the holiday decorations at each of the Disney hotels too - each (including PP) was so great. And, while you're there, check out the "goofy" decorations near Goofy's Kitchen at DLH. I'm so jealous!!!

And, on a side note, just be aware the elevators at PP can be a little challenging especially with ECVs. Be sure to add on a little "travel time" just in case. We had a few instances of having to wait through a couple of elevators before we could get on. Nothing Vacation Ruining (patent pending) it just took longer sometimes.

Have a great trip!!!

We are flying and will have to suck it up with their pots unless we bring Via packets. Hmmm......

Ummm, we fly too!! :rotfl2:We have to make space for the coffee maker in our suitcase (who needs those extra pants and socks? We're talking COFFEE here people!!), but I think I may have a coffee problem.

Also, Option Two: Sending a scout down to the lobby to retrieve fresh coffee from the Surfside Lounge. Must be someone willing to wear pants that early, must be someone willing to exit resort room uncaffeinated.

Option Three: Room Service yourself a pot of coffee. Never attempted that one, but I think you can pre-order it the night before.

:lmao: After I posted I realized we will have a car for our first two days of the trip during our beach days so maybe I'll try to figure something out.

That is what we did at PPH and GCH. Pre-ordered two continental breakfasts which came with 2 drinks each (so 4 cups of coffee!) and enough baked goodies for the 3 of us to get a good start on the day! Pretty sure the first delivery window was at 6:00am and even though there is a 30 minute window, ours always arrived right at the start of the time we picked.

This is a great idea. I am going to look at their room service menu right now. I am also thinking about pre-ordering at Starbucks.

I bought a 17oz metal French press coffee pot. Will pack that in suitcase along with coffee. Have traveled with a black and decker electric travel maker in the past but am changing to the French press. I need my coffee before I speak to anyone!!

You, my friend, know how to vacation!!

Always double check which Starbucks you are mobile ordering to... The one marked West is by Earl of sandwich. We've had issues ordering at one, and not double checking and it went to the wrong one (TWICE!)

Thank you for the head's up! We have no issues here pre-ordering here but I can see how it could get messy in DTD. I am so glad they opened a second one.

Tell me about your travel coffee press! Is it hard to use/pack/etc...?

I love mobile ordering and do it daily, but with them so close together, I watch it carefully. It was fun when 4 of us ordered during the Disneyland Half, and 3 orders went to the one by the Grand (where we were) and 1 went to the West location. And West location (which I usually use when at DLH, great to pick up on the way) is slower than the one by the WoD store.

The coffee press is 5.3 x 3.8 x 8.3 inches and all metal. I have not packed this yet but do not plan on being overly aggressive with bubble wrap. The Black and Decker Brew and Go I packed previously is 10.2 x 7 x 6.9 inches. That I wrapped in bubble wrap. It's flown coast to coast with me without any problems. I recently 'discovered' French press coffee and felt it would be the better way to travel. I got my French press through Amazon. It was $80 but is solid, looks well made.

How do you heat up the water? Do you bring ground coffee? How fine do you grind the coffee? I'm getting off topic aren't I? This is your fault/what you get when you travel so well;)

Since the rooms have the pod pots, I'll use that to heat up the water. MOST hotel rooms have some sort of coffee pot that can be used to heat the water. That being said, we recently stayed at Pop Century at WDW which did NOT have a coffee pot in the room. I used my Black and Decker there. I bought one of those plug-in water heaters to use with the French press when that happens again. Coffee grind - until recently, pre-ground starbucks. But for future trips I'll by some beans and coarse grind them.
