I am planning a trip to DL this summer for about 8 people and was thinking of getting a 2 room suite with concierge service. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience or advice. TIA!

We've never done the two-room suite, but can speak for the Concierge part as we have done that before. We really enjoyed the perks of Concierge and are looking forward to going that way again. We paid for a standard view and got a cabana level room, which was awesome. It was very convenient, especially since it was a Summer visit, to go back to the hotel mid-day and grab some snacks from the concierge lounge and head to the room for swims or naps and just being able to open the slider and just go out. I also think the upper CA View concierge rooms would be awesome! I hear the view of WOC is pretty cool!

Another perk we enjoyed was being able to grab and go breakfast in the morning. Saved us time by not having to find a breakfast place in the morning and the kids liked the selections they offered. Sometimes we made it back to the hotel in time for the desserts they put out the last hour and we really love the chocolate covered strawberries!!

Have fun and best of luck with your trip!:wizard:

Thank you so much for sharing your review! It really helped me get an idea of the room layout and such. Thanks for the responses!

Well, we booked concierge with a pool view, and when we got there we were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite (probably b/c pool view would have been construction view).

Note from that review...tiny little thought, but if there are kids...they don't have the Mickey-top toiletries anymore. Now it's all like the Grand, with the impossible-to-squeeze skinny cylinders of shampoo, etc. It's sad, really. (not the same actual type of toiletries as at the grand, but the same difficult containers)

Our room had two bathrooms, though neither was as large as in the review. But the living room seemed bigger than the picture in the review, with far more space between couch (and our couch seemed bigger as well) and dining table.

Concierge at DLR means, basically, food. They have a self-serve cappucino machine, which is fairly nice. They even had a vegetarian evening dish ONE night of our stay, which meant we could partake in their evening food (other than cheese and crackers) on one of those evenings.

They do also have movies to rent as part of the service, and that was fun. It also means there are DVD players in the rooms, so if you have any movies you want to watch, bring them! My husband forgot about that (we'd stayed concierge at DLH before) and didn't think we would be able to/want to watch movies while there, and refused DS's requests to bring movies...silly silly man.

They tend to bring a plate of krispie-treat Mickey heads. Ours showed up on the second day. And there they sat, as we don't eat marshmallows (the gelatin as well as the corn syrup). So if you don't eat those things, you might tell them, so they aren't given to you (and maybe they'll have the ability to change the treat they give). If we'd known we were going to be upgraded and had expected the treat, we would have let them know!

Oh, and they have turndown service. When the housekeepers come up for that, they will do the service (unless you have "do not disturb" up) and leave chocolate coins on your pillows. If you are there but do not want turndown, they'll give you chocolate coins anyway when you answer the door. :)
