I'm trying to decide whether to buy PAP's or AP's for my family. Please help me decide. My DH is 44, I am 41, DS is 6 and DD is 4. We live in Virginia, but we're moving to California in the the Summer of 2006 so we're trying to get in a bunch of WDW visits during the next year since it is far more convenient to travel from VA than it is from CA.

We have 3 trips planned to WDW within 1 year.

#1. 16-21 Oct 05 in a 1 bdr at SSR. A priority for us during this visit is MNSSHP. We may want to go to a water park this week.

#2. 17-21 Dec 05 in a 2 bdr at SSR. DH won't be with us on this trip. We'll be joined by 2 girlfriends of mine and their respective children. A priority during this visit is MVMCP. I think it will be too cold to go to a water park in December.

#3. 17-24 Jun 06 in a 2 bdr at SSR. We'll be joined by another family of 4 for the week before our 24 Jun Disney Cruise. We may want to go to a water park during this week but will they be too crowded?

We have never been to Disney Quest. Are our kids too young to enjoy it?

I also plan to purchase the Disney Dining Experience.

Is the PAP worth the extra $ for us?

Thanks.

Kathy

The last time I figured it out, and that was a while ago, you would have to go to Disney Quest or the water parks four times over the course of the year for the PAP to be a better buy than the regular AP. I haven't done the calculation since the discount went into effect so it may be less than four visits now.

So I would say it would depend on how many times you think you will visit those other places that are covered by the PAP.

I think you could go to a water park in Oct & June. We went to Typhoon Lagoon in Oct with our 7 & 4 y/o. They loved it!!! They'd rather go there than the parks. We kept saying that we were going to go to Dis Quest but never made it. I'm not sure what the difference in price is but you could probably get your moneys worth out of the PAP, if you went to the water parks in Oct. & June.

Hi,
I was in the same boat last year trying to decide between AP and PAP too. We went last week of Aug, Oct/Nov and during Christmas week. We visited Typhoon Lagoon once, and my son 11yrs and DH loved going to Disney Quest during Christmas Week. On some days, it was too cold to go elsewhere! My daughter (3yrs) old enjoyed her visit there too, eventhough it was very loud for her. We have at least two more trips planned this year, and plan on going to the Water Parks at least 3 more times, and Disney Quest a lot more times. (I like to shop at World of Disney Store and not feel rushed) I think that the DVC discount is very good for either pass, so I'd rather purchase the PAP for the water parks since you're going to be there during warmer weather. It's nice, because you won't have to stay all day to justify a one-day ticket. You and your DH may want to visit Pleasure Island too. We haven't yet, but may go sometime during our next visit.
We live in Virginia too, and round trip flights have been really good this year! You may be able to squeeze in another trip before moving to California!
:cheer2:

We went last April and my kids were 6 and 3 at the time. They loved Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Quest. We went to Disney Quest several times. DS 6 could do the majority of the things offered and with some help DS 3, could do a bunch of things. Both loved it and still talk about it. If your kids like video games and play PlayStation or any of those kinds of games, they will love Disney Quest. DH loved it also. :cool1:
