I heard something from a friend tonight that just renewed her Annual Premium Pass. She was told that she would have a block-out date on May 5, 2005. Which I believe is the kick-off date for the 50th Anniversary celebration.
Has anyone else come across this?

<font color=navy>Hi Keith, :wave2:

I haven't heard anything yet, but I'll keep my eyes/ears out.

Are you planning on going anyway?

Hi Mary Jo
We are headed to WDW in August for nine days. It’s going to be hot and humid, but you have to do what you have to do. We are really looking forward to it. We will be staying with our friends who leave right outside the back gate of WDW. I am hoping to get motivated this time and do a trip report, so if you don’t see one by September you have my permission to yell at me.

How are the kids…or should I say young adults? They sure grow up fast.

Hopefully we can see each other at the park soon.
Take care.
Keith

When we purchased our Premium Annual Passes we were told there were no block-out dates because they are Premium Passes.

When I renewed mine last month there was no mention of it either. She renewed her's this past Sunday. Maybe it was some kind of misunderstanding. I think this is going to require some in depth research. I can see the possible thought process behind it, if only a small percentage of pass holders show up that day the park would be full by mid morning.

Okay, Per Judy in Guest Relations there is a Block-Out day for Premium Passholders, actually it sounds like all Passholders next year on May 4, 2005. She has been told that the park will be closed that day to get ready for the 50th kick-off the next day. She stated that there would be an announcement in the next Passholder newsletter.

<font color=navy>Sooo, essentially - no one goes in the park on May 4, 2005, however, we can go in the park on May 5, 2005, with our PAPs?

The parks will be closed on May 5 to prepare for the 50th celebration. We just registered our APs this week and got this note with it. It's not really black out date, the parks are closed.
