How the heck do I do this without a resort reservation

You can make the FP+ selections up to 30 days prior to day of use.

30 days prior to 3/23 is 2/21
30 days prior to 3/25 is 2/23
30 days prior to 3/26 is 2/24

I just made all the FP for my ds's baseball team, which is arriving on March 21 and they are staying onsite and that was for a party of 18. I'm hoping my FP selections will match up somewhat to what I booked for the team. If not, no big deal but it would be nice.

When it comes time to make yours, there's an option to add FP+ selections to a Family or Friend. Don't recall off hand if this is under the New or Modify FP+ selection. Using that option, you can (subject to availability) copy the FP+ selections for DS to you and anyone else that's on your family & friends list (that has park admission).
