I was at Animal Kingdom last September and went on the Pangani Forest trail. I saw gorillas, monkeys, zebras, and meerkats, however I did not see any hippopotamus or okapi on the trail. I remember them being advertised as being on this trail. Have hippos and okapis since been moved? I am going back soon and want to make sure I see everything I can. Thanks.

Nope. Okapi and hippo are both still there! The okapi are right near the beginning of the trail - along with a yellow tailed duiker. Look for them on your left. They do like to hide behind a tree though ....
The hippo is in his pool and is just past the bird enclosure. If you pass the meerkats and zebra, you've gone too far. Again, the hippo may or may not be visible depending on where he happens to be hanging out when you're there.... But in the morning he is typically sleeping on his big rock and in the afternoon you have a decent shot of seeing him do laps.

We saw the okapi on the trail on Saturday. Didn't notice the hippo but wasn't looking for it. The baby gorillas stole the show, though.

The animals are still there but they don't run on human schedules so they were probably off where you couldn't see them during your walk through. That's the thing about Animal Kingdom - the animals are on own their own animal schedule and no human can really change that.

On Saturday, both were there. Hippo was under water so unless you looked closely at the underwater tank you would miss it.

Thank you all. When I went I didn't even see a sign for them... didn't know about the duiker, either. The trail does end with the zebras/meerkats, right? I remember going in and out of the same entrance/exit. I think there was another entrance or exit but it could have been closed. This was last September so I don't know if there was construction, etc. going on. I was also wondering about the trail right outside of Africa with the Galapagos tortoises. Does it end there, or go further? Just wanted to know so I'm prepared for my next trip. Thanks.

trail ends with the gorillas

the Okapi can easily be missed the trail splits at that point if you go straight you'll miss their area - you have to bear left (it is really right at the beginning - just past the black / white colombus ?? monkeys) to get to them.
