Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Does anyone know if Head Server Deniz is still on the Wonder. We had him last cruise over a year ago and he was great.

We will only be bringing one bottle. Not sure what to bring though; something we like or something local. The local wines tend to be sweet, we don't like sweet. What do you all want me to bring?

I lived in Ohio for 4 years and never so much as even sniffed an Ohio wine, I think you should bring one. We opted for the a Frontenac which is a grape developed here at the University of Minnesota and now an extremely popular hardy grape. You will thank us for by-passing the many apple wines made here.

Hi Everyone!
This is also my first post, and also happy to be here!
Traveling with my DD, who is a Disney Cast Member. She is helping me celebrate receiving my BA in sustainability, as of last Sunday.

I've been reading as fast as I can. LOL
I know the...FE is closed, but what is it please?
I also have stacks of books, and will bring what I can.

We fly home from IAH. Is anyone else going there, and wanting to share a ride?

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!:cool1:

Teri

:welcome: So glad you are joining us. A very nice reason for the trip.

The FE is a gift exchange that is organized between interested cruisers. It is a big deal on many of the cruises and because of the time of preparation, usually closes a month or so before the cruise.

Those of you doing Disneyland on the 13th will get to stay out till 1am for the Unleash the Villains, nice break. :woohoo:

I looked around and it sounds like this is at WDW at Hollywood studios. This is what I was able to find for Disneyland:

It’s the same date that Disneyland will be debuting updates to Haunted Mansion Holiday in California, making it the ultimate occasion for Halloween fans at Disney’s parks.

Welcome, Teri!

I'm flying home from IAH but I'm taking the DCL transfer there since that seemed to be the cheapest option for a single and my flight's not until after 3pm.

Well, phooey, I can't post the link yet because I am a newbie here, but Disneyland is doing it. Here is the text from the link:

On this spooktacular evening, villains will take over Disneyland as well. Town Square is transformed for the party where guests may see villains like Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts, Judge Frollo and Lady Tremaine. Cobwebs and vines, Halloween-themed projections, lighting effects and an eerie fog set the tone for the evening. Witches and warlocks will get the dance party started, spinning a mix of upbeat Halloween tunes and Disney-friendly Top 40 hits.

Later in the evening, the twisted celebration spills over to New Orleans Square Train Station with lurking Disney villains ready for the Unleash the Villains Dance Party featuring a lit-up dance floor and raised platforms, spooky décor and lighting effects. A mischievous station master DJ conducts this party — announcing the arrival of a different ghoulish Disney villain at the 13th minute after every hour. Villains will be on the prowl after dusk for photo ops and character greetings, plus a few special surprises.

Welcome! The FE is the Fish Extender Exchange. Outside of each cabin is a metal hook in the shape of a fish. Participants from the Disboards on this cruise will hang a decorated holder for others in the group to leave small gifts. Similar to a Secret Santa event; however, each participant can identify themselves as they leave goodies.

Congratulations on your degree!!

Are you still trying to do this? My daughter and I might be interested

We currently have booked a super shuttle that leaves the Port at 10:30am to Houston Hobby. It seats max of 10 people, and we currently have 7. We are leaving this Sunday morning to start our B2B2B starting in Alaska and will not be online on this board after Saturday I you wish we can meet at guest services on the first panama cruise day some time to confirm. Let me know either online or onboard.

Is anyone doing the Dolphin Discovery at Chakanaab? I booked Dolphinaris through DCL but they don't really have the excursion I want - a dolphin meet and greet that I can do with my kids. THEY HAVE WHAT I WANT AT Chakanaab, albeit a little more expensive, but the earliest one starts at 1pm, ends at 2 pm, and w have to make our way to the front of the park and taxi back to the ship by 3:45. And my mom walks with a cane. Slowly. Also, when the itinerary says 7:30 to 3:45, is that local time or EST?
my son is watching me type this on my IPad and wants me to add this: :scared1:

Hello!

I ran into this problem when I was reserving the bus for the large Hobby group...

Just a thought...Someone should make sure Super Shuttle can accomodate the luggage for the 7,8 or 9 passengers in that size van.

The company I reserved with is providing a new 40+ pass shuttle bus for our group. They told me they that even with filling the luggage compartments they anticipate using some of the inside space for the 45-50 pieces of luggage etc. Coming off this long of a vacation there will a lot more luggage. If someone needs to join there should be room. Let me know if you need in.

Never mind, when I went back on DCL and found an excursion to Chakanaab (that I swear wasn't there when I originally booked excursions) and went ahead and booked through DCL. It is costing me maybe $100 more, but worth it for the piece of mind to do it through DCL. Plus I upgraded, going to do the Dolphin push/pull. Hope my mom can do it and my kids don't freak out!! :dance3:

Hi
Thank you for the offer and the heads up, we are good with 8 plus luggage.

Hi all,
We are still GTY with our room assignment. When can we expect to get a room assignment?

Hi all,
We are still GTY with our room assignment. When can we expect to get a room assignment?

Any day now - I would bet on Tuesday, that seems to be a popular day to release them. It is usually 10-14 days before sailing.

Does anyone know whether it is still allowable to bring a bottle of liquor onto the ship? I can only find references to bringing wine, and I don't drink wine.

Also, my daughter would like to purchase some See's Candies while in Los Angeles, and bring them back home. Will the ship allow her to bring on board?

Thanks!
