Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Thanks for all the congrats, everyone! Our son moved in on Monday and is really adjusting well. We will start visiting our daughter next week, and then she will move in the week after.

Sorry to everyone I haven't sent the chart out to! I'm going to try and get to it this morning while he's napping.

I'm really hoping we can still travel with you all, but we won't be able to make that decision for another couple of weeks probably.

I thought the Wonder and the Magic were the same and that you could lift the bed on both.
Last year on the Magic we had 2 cabins 12 suitcases and 6 carry on size bags we checked it all in except what we wanted to carry on with us. We were given extra tags at the baggage drop off for the other suitcases.

We had no problems storing everything we put a couple of suitcases under the bed DH just lifted it and they fitted under the others went in the closet.
I expect to have a little less this year as we are only bringing 3 of our kids :)

Thanks everyone for the info. My "problem" (LOL) is that I've been working on a healthier me & have lost 72 pounds, 60 to go! As a result, I've been "forced" to shop till I drop & now have a different outfit for every evening!! With shoes the likes of which I've not been able to wear in years! And I need to bring them all!!

In an interesting turn of events, we aren't sure if we are cruising or not, but for a FANTASTIC reason! My husband and I have been trying to adopt for years now, and we just found out last week that we got a placement! My 11 month old son moves in TODAY and his 4 1/2 year old sister moves in next week!!!!! (Holy cow, right????) Since we were waiting to hear from the state on possible adoption placements, we DID take the Travel Protection, knowing there was a SLIGHT possibility we may get a call.....little did we know!

So, now we aren't sure what we are doing. The kids' social worker said she can absolutely get them passports and we can take them on the cruise if we want to, but it'll all depend on how everyone adjusts. Two weeks is a Loooooong time to be on a ship if the baby decides he's going to scream the whole time! We will just have to see how these next few weeks go.

In the mean time......eeeeeekkkkkk!!!!

Congratulations. Hopefully you can make it but what a fantastic reason for not being able to go.:dancer::dancer:party:

Hi to everyone! We just booked this cruise! Nothing like waiting to the last minute! This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and we are soooo excited! We participated in the FE on our last cruise and would love to do it again. Is this the place sign up for that?
We have John, my hubby, and kids, Jack 14, Annabella 4 in Cabin 2513. Heidi, that's me, and kids Lauren age 12 and Justin age 7 in an IGT cabin # unknown now. Judy and Gary, my parents, along with Jesse age 9 in another IGT cabin. That's it for now. Please let me know if I need to sign up elsewhere for the FE. See you in September!

:wave2::welcome: To you and all the new travelers.

Had to share. My daughter qualified for State Fair with her 4-H project (Vet Science I). We went on Saturday and she finished in the top 6 in the state! They give a top award and then the other's get the same award. They don't distinguish by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc..
Now it is on to more softball before the County Fair starts and her other project gets judged.

:banana::goodvibes Congratulations to your daughter.

I don't know if I posted this before here,

Bingo does have time off. Its his vacation too.

Congratulations!! That's amazing. I lost 40 lbs few years ago and it's a liberating feeling. You should be so proud! I'm sure glad to hear we are not the only people not packing "light".

What a great problem! I might have a few more outfits to wear too if I were you...lol. You can put things under the bed on the Magic and Wonder - just not as much as you can on the Dream and Fantasy. After the Magic gets her makeover she will have the same higher, nicer beds as the Dream and Fantasy - hopefully also have that foot stool that has storage like the new ships too!

We are the folks with one weeks worth of clothes for a three week trip - you will see us in the laundry...:woohoo: My kids can mess up a room so fast it is best not to give them too much to leave laying around - if it were just me and DH the packing would be a whole different story! The cabins and storage would be very roomy for two people.

One thing they did upgrade on the older ships if it has been a while since you have been on them are the room clocks! Now they are digital and have a dock for your iPhone/iPod - at least they had those on the Magic last year - that was a huge improvement from the little ship clocks you could not see in the dark - no need to pack a clock to see in the dark!

I seriously need to stop shopping. I have plenty to wear on the cruise, and since I'm still losing it's not like I'll be able to wear most of it next summer anyway! I refuse to stop with the shows, though! My daughter said yesterday "Mom-you're a total shoe wh---!" My reply "Yup. Pretty much. And I feel no shame!"

Do we know if the Dog has any dietary restrictions? Also how large is the dog?

Will you be sending out the final cabin list for the FE and recipe exchange, if so when?

Been working and moving and have not been able to focus on the vacation. Just need to get through the next fee weeks and I can start to see a light at the end of the tunnel...... It will be the Wonder! Can not wait

Thanks

Just updated the FE document. Our final cutoff date is August 1, so unless someone adds onto the list in the next less than 24 hours, it should be close to final.

So proud for her. I know some kids in our church who enter for the county and state fair and I know they work hard on their projects.

Congrats. I may have to talk to you!! I know I need to drop a few, but my doctor informed me yesterday that one of my new medications she is putting me on might add a few pounds!!! :sad2: I need some that will take it off!!!

You and I will probably be in the laundry room together. I have plenty of outfits for all our 7 night cruises. . . and that is more than enough luggage, so I have promised DH that I will do laundry instead of buying more outfits!!!

Our official cutoff for the FE exchange is tomorrow, August 1.
I just updated the list and we have 33 cabins, which includes 1 dog, 11 boys and 12 girls.

The postcard/recipe exchange has 17 cabins in it to date and we have 2 more weeks before that cutoff, unless everyone wants to cut it off sooner.

It is getting closer. . . . is anyone excited????????? :lmao:

:welcome: So glad you are joining us. I will be sending you the link as soon as you get your 10 posts so that I can pm it to you.

:welcome: to y'all also, so glad you are with us. I am adding you to the FE. I am assuming you will have one for your family on just one room, so for now I am using the 2513 cabin. Will your parents also want to be included in the exchange? Also is Jesse your son or daughter?

So excited for you. If for some reason you don't go, I am sure the kids will get an introduction to Disney cruises at some point in time.

Got it taken care of.

Two more days to join the FE exchange

Hi, I'm out of town with a relative at a hospital and trying to do this with my phone. What did you mean about ten post till I can get pm messages. I haven't been on dis very long so please teach me I'm on the Facebook page as Kim miller.

Hello Friends,
Mark and Mary will be joining the fun.....
This will be our second Panama crossing, the first with the kids in 2005. this cruise will be just the two of us, and let me tell you the kids aren't very happy, but as I say school first.

Welcome. We are also traveling w/o kids. Really looking forward to it.

Can I buy laundry detergent in the ship's laundry rooms?

WOW! I can't believe when you don't get on in a couple of days how many additional posts there are. I am definitely waiting until the FE list closes out tomorrow to print. At this rate there might be a few more cabins!! :cheer2:
45 days and getting excited. No, wait, not getting exited....

EXCITED!!!:cheer2:

It really tells me that we are doing the right cruse when so many in the group are repeat crossers :woohoo: WELCOME ! !:wave2:

They do have a detergent dispenser in the laundries and I think they changed it from coins to KTTW card swipe. pixiedust: We used to bring the 3 in 1 sheets but can't get them here any more so now we bring the tide pods, half dozen in a zip lock bag and we are set for 2 weeks :laundy:

We have been sailing adults only for the past 4 years, Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean, it is GREAT ! ! It was awfully fun when the girls were young but now we can just see the excitement other are experiencing and remember when we were there. :cloud9:

As of now you have a total post number of 7. Once you have posted on the DIS 10 times, you will be able to send and receive PM's which is how I send the FE document link to the members of the group. So if you can do 3 more posts, you will be set.

I have sent a couple of PM's. When I go and change to the "Sent Items" folder, it doesn't show any of those I have sent. Does this work like email, and should I be able to see PM's I've sent in that folder? Thanks for any help.

Found the answer to my own question. In "Edit Options", there is a box to check to save "sent items". Easy fix!

My brain is having a power surge & temporarily unavailable, so I can't remember-is there a list of second seating folks seeking table mates.

We can finally say we cruise next month!!!

Socalmufasa: Which one did you do in 2005, the 1st or 2nd crossing? We were on the 2nd one in August. Had a great time!

Welcome to all the new cruisers!

Thanks Kathy for all your work! As I sit here on hold with WDW (Free dining came out today) I am putting together the F/Es! Not to spoil my whole F/E, but I know some of you may need this for planning - I am including a couple 3 in 1 sheets (I ordered some on Amazon) per cabin. Those are so hard to find and perfect for travel! Even if you don't do laundry on the ship you can put them with your dirty clothes and they will smell better!

I love that we are now only a month away!!!:cool1:
