Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Rules must be different at DL - I have talked to them several times - as long as we have a group together wanting to do the same class on the same day we can do the program. It sounds like a lot of fun!

I talked with my daughter today and the one she really wants to do I didn't even put up - the animation class. Hope we can get enough children!

I put the PDF flyers about the program up on our Facebook page.

They must be different I think we are getting An AP as we are doing a split trip will let you know if we are interested or not when I work it all out.

We are getting there on Tuesday. We will be in the parks all but one day in which I am planning to take one of the ABD tours.

We will be in the Parks on Thursday and Friday, especially since Mommaluvsdis has never been. Maybe we could meet up in one of the parks? Since we will be getting there on Wednesday we are planning to do DTD. When the 4 of us meet up at WDW that is our 1st day with a meal at Earl of Sandwich. Since DTD DL now has one we thought we would just keep up the tradition. :-)

In case anyone needs to book flights - Southwest prices dropped overnight (at least the one I was watching)! I've been watching flights from Houston to Cleveland and for the 28th they have been stuck at $255 for the past few weeks. (And I check nearly every day!) This morning the price from Houston to Cleveland is $127!

About a month ago we found a great price from Cleve to LA - $109! At that point the 28th was not open yet to book....but was around $127. When it became available, the price was $255. Very happy that it dropped! FREE BAGS too!!

We paid the additional $12.50 for early bird check in so we can hopefully get seats together. Still cheaper than any other price we were seeing.

Since we have flights to LA and home from Houston I can officially say I'm excited to be on this cruise. :cheer2:

Sounds good - if you get an AP you can still do the program for $37 - great deal compared to VIP tours.

May the Irish hills caress you,
May her lakes and rivers bless you,
May the Luck of the Irish enfold you,
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you !:shamrock:

:wave2:just thought I would pop in and say Hi we are planning on doing this cruise, I have been stalking the DCL website at this point in time we are going to take the risk and wait for a GTY rate so we can book 2 cabins there will be 5 of us but if there is sudden movement an increase booking I guess we will reconsider.
We have 2 nights booked at the GCV and 3 nights wait listed before the crusie although I am seriously considering changing our wait list to the DL hotel I am really nervous about the wait list and don't want to end up paying for a hotel rather than using points. We also have 4 nights booked at GCV after the Crusie for before we fly home hoping to do a Halloween party we did one at WDW lat year and loved it.
Our kids have no idea about this trip it's a surprise ;)

Hi there, another Aussie family here, can you tell me what GTY stands for? We were booked to do the Alaska cruise but we saw the Panama and always love doing that cruise so we are thinking of swapping over.
We are on the Gold Coast in Qld.

GTY stands for Guarantee. It means that you are guaranteed the category you paid for or higher but are not assigned a stateroom. You may not get your stateroom until a week or so before the cruise. Definitely come aboard. This a great cruise.

Welcome to all new cruisers and Happy St Patricks Day!

GTY means you are guaranteed a cabin at a level, but not assigned a cabin until close to sailing - you also may be moves to a higher level cabin - it is usually a great price because this gives Disney the ability to move you around as the ship fills up with folks who want specific cabins.

Hope you will join us!

Our flights to the USA are booked so if I have worked this out correctly is the PiFD the 14th May?
The 14 thread seems to have more people on it than this one :confused3

:wave2: the others have already explained it, Welcome to the boards there is an Aussie section under other lands section if you haven't already found it make sure you pop in and say hi we all  to hear about other Aussies trips. Alaska is also on our wish list but even without GTY this cruise is a great price but I am holding out for the rate so we can book 2 cabins and hopefully save a few $.
We booked VGT rate for the 5 night Canada cruise last year it was great we got connecting Verandah cabins but this is not guaranteed at all.
Is this your first trip?

This does seem awful quiet, wondering if that means the ship is not well sold :scratchin Some on the December 12 EBPC canceled and rebooked when GT came out and still saved :thumbsup2 We booked OB and moved to this cruise when they were posted so it may not be as good a deal for us giving up the discount and OBC. :upsidedow

Mommaluvsdis checked today and all cats are still available.

It may be quiet, but even my little weekend cruise back in February did not pick up a lot of chatter until 3-4 months out and a lot of those came at even 2 months before the cruise.

I really like the dates for this one and it finishing up at Galveston was the absolute best for us.

We would have prefered the Miami destination but to finally get on a PC would take a tuliepuckerbrush disembarkment.

The fact that it debarked in Galveston was the main reason we are doing this cruise. We are in Louisiana but its just over the state line. We are three hours away.

Same here - we are in TX and flights one way to LA were a good price!

Did you all see the discounts that came out today on the Wonder out of Galveston? I was watching for ours to be included in the deal, but if you are doing a back to back from Galveston when we get in they are offering OBC and reduced deposits.

There are some good rates but after 14 nights on the ship we'll be ready to see our cat and our Boston terrier! However it is tempting isn't it?

I'm always tempted...lol. But we will have been gone for 3 weeks so I am not as tempted this time! ;)

Actually, I'm more tempted to take the Carnival Magic to Belize. It sails the same day we pull in to port. I would love that itinerary. Wish Disney was doing it.
