Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I was wondering how many home schoolers there would be on board!

We will do an Alaska cruise when we move someplace warm. I don't see either of those happening in the near future.

We always try to book another cruise on board for the discounts. This will be DCL cruise #14 for us.

We joined DVC in 1995 when there was only 1 resort and it was called the Disney Vacation Club. Now it is Old Key West. We LOVE DVC.

HI everyone! I am trying to decide between this PC cruise or the one in May. The May dates would work a little better and I know lots of people on it, but this fall PC is much cheaper.

If we go it would be myself (Pam), DH (Mike), DD (Katrina), DD (Leissa) and DGS (Bentley).....not sure about son in law yet.

Decisions, decisions! Hopefully I will know soon. Until then I am probably gonna be lurking in the background here if that is ok!! :)

Hi All, :wave2:

Well we just switched our Holiday cruise to this one. :santa: Really wanted to do one of the 2012 crossings but both are at very difficult times for daughters classes.

How great is it that people are starting to DIS this 14 months out, :surfweb: we are doing a Royal Caribbean out of San Juan in Dec / Jan and there has only been 7 posts to date.

Really happy to be part of this cruise and of course can't wait. :yay:

Welcome everyone!
Yes, it is exciting, isn't it???
I think about it every day, even though it's still over 400 days away.

In the meantime, DH and I are going on an anniversary cruise (15 years) on the Disney Dream in October. I get to check in tonight--have my fingers crossed for Remy.

We are trying to find time to do the Fantasy so we can have completed the grand slam. :boat:

After learning about the booking on board, I know I will always try to book a future cruise before leaving a cruise. The discount and the lower deposit are great and getting an OBC is just icing on the cake. My DH did not expect to like cruising. He went on the first cruise just to keep peace in the family, but when we got back he was very quick to say. . . when are we going on another cruise!!!

Whenever newer DCL cruisers ask me for suggestions or what not to miss on a cruise, one of my first responses is "book a cruise on board". You can always cancel or move the date out (although DCL's new policy is if you move the date, you lose the OBC).

Denine - you must have also received the park passes with your DVC purchase. We have friends who were our tablemates on a Magic 2004 cruise and they were early DVC purchasers. They now have about 1200-1400 points. I want them to adopt me!

Hi everyone,

Steve and I booked this cruise today. Works out perfectly for us as we live 3 hours from Galveston.

Jan, good to see you and Dave onboard. You couldn't talk our other Michigan friends into joining us?

Pam, it would be great to sail with you and Mike again and meet the family. Hope you decide to join us.

Looking forward to meeting everyone else.

Denise

Denise and Steve!!!!!:wave2:

So excited we'll be cruising with you two again. You can finally meet Dave. Carla is also cruising with us. I told Dave after our January 2009 cruise, that he needed to meet you two. No, I couldn't talk Gail into chaning her mind. They are doing a PC cruise on Celebrity in 2014.

We met Dave on one of the cruises. He and Steve talked about their jobs and Dave thought I was the one that gave the coffee he liked as an FE gift. It wasn't me and I wish it had been because that was great coffee!

I am trying to talk pahrumpgirl into joining us and while Carol is all for it Doug is wanting to hold out. I may need to turn the big gun, Steve, on him.

Yes, we did get the park passes. That is a ton of points! We don't have nearly that many. I don't think I could afford the yearly dues!

Welcome MPS516 and Disney Sweetie and Families!

Jan

Thank you Jan!!

Denise!! YAY, so glad to see someone that I know on here. We still have not booked this cruise, but I think this is the one that we will be doing. It will be great to see you and Steve again!

Hey Pam! We are so excited to be on this cruise. This is my third try to do the PC, something I have always wanted to do.

I am trying to talk Doug into going too. Carol, pahrumpgirl, is always ready but we now have to turn the heat up on Doug.

It is amazing that all categories are still available for this cruise. These usually sell out quickly. Could be the debarkation in Galveston but it is right up our ally as we are 3 hours away! Woohoo!

How far is Purvis?

Hey to Mike from the Ezells!:wave2:

We are about 7 hours away....not to bad. We have always wanted to do the PC but have always had conflicts. I am determined to go this time! Hopefully you can talk Doug into going. It would be nice to see them again too!

Mike says Hello!! :wave2:

We have been trying for a PC cruise for years as well but the timing has always been real bad for DD. She graduates this Spring so September was perfect for us to finally get aboard.

Hoping to get to LA a few days early for Disneyland and maybe stop in Holly Springs MS to visit family on way back to Minnesota. :car: Could end up being a full 3 weeks for us.

I am hoping to get into LA a few days early also. The kids have not been to Disneyland, so this will be the perfect chance to visit! We are in south MS....a little ways from Holly Springs, but I know where it is :)

Do we have a facebook page set up for this group? Are any activities planned or in the works?

Welcome to all the new posters.

Our last cruise we had a private facebook page and a lot of activity on it, but we also had the thread since some people do not do facebook.

I wanted to know if anyone was up for an FE Exchange? I would volunteer to keep the list if we decide to go for it.

Another thing we did and it was seperate from the FE was a State Postcard/Recipe exchange. Most of the ones that did it were also in the FE, but there was some not in the exchange. We got postcards from our state and put recipes that were popular or significant to our state and it was a lot of fun also.

So let me be the first to say I am willing to be involved in both or whatever. Just chime in.

We are also planning on going to Disneyland a few days before the cruise. We have never been, but I want to go at least once to see the differences between DL and WDW.
