Is anyone watching this? I have been watching bits here and there on court tv and find Gwyneth Paltrow's testimony completely believable. Her version makes so much sense.
The gentleman who claims to have been struck by her seems to be very much into "I'm famous" time and talking.....a lot. He seems to remember every single detail, even every thought he had during the time of the incident when he was "traumatically " injured after "being struck" by Gwyneth. He seems like he is really reaching. Movie and book to come I bet.

I got sucked into watching it a few hours on Friday because I couldn’t find anything else to watch. The plaintiffs attorney the female is just simply annoying when Paltrow was testifying. It was so cringe. It was embarrassing. Just her smile and look on her face like oh my god you’re famous. And then when she starts asking her about her friendship with Taylor Swift. The next hilarious thing was somebody shot it out are you going to ask her next about about Oprah.
she does come across like an ice princess, so I hope that doesn’t go against her when it comes to the jury. And she just annoys so many people but still, I believe her moreover, the other guy.

In this case, no pun intended, it isn't the way she relays her script, it's the actual script that seems more believable.

I haven’t been following closely, so sorry if this has been addressed already, but while I find her version somewhat plausible, where I don’t think it makes sense is that I thought she had an ‘entourage’ with her. Her kids, at least 4 ski instructors, and I’m guessing some type of security.

If they thought she was a victim - especially if she thought it was a sexual assault - then I doubt they would have all moved on so quickly and quietly.

When I was watching her testimony on Friday, I believe she had stated that each kid had their own ski instructor because they all had different levels of skiing. And she recalled it actually, her kids were already downhill waiting for her. I believe it was her now husband who was there that helped her I’ve skied before with my kids and it’s always the kids to wait for the parents at the bottom of the hill lol.

They weren’t skiing as a big group per se, as she had noted they all did their own thing individually and then they had planned to meet for lunch which they did. It was after this lunch when she started feeling sore in her knees and back and that’s when she decided to get a massage because she was in pain. As evidence they also showed a text that she had written back, then saying “that guy really hurt me I’m gonna go get a massage”

The sexual assault statement is also being taken out of context, and all the press online. I don’t know hundred percent recall what she said but it was something to the fact that she felt him come up from behind and basically put pressure up against her back and for a split second that was her initial thought before thencrash. basically, why is some stranger touching me, which makes sense as a celebrity I’m pretty sure you’re pretty paranoid about people getting too close to you. The entire incident didn’t end with her, thinking that she was sexually exhausted.

I‘m an experienced skier. His injuries on his left side and her witness stating she landed on top of him make me believe she ran into him.

Also, the sole witness to the collision corroborates she ran into him.

I might not be objective though because I detest Paltrow. IDK. I started skiing at 5 and I’m in my late 40s and I can’t put his injuries together with how she states it happened.

I don't know enough about the case to have a strong opinion but I have questions.

If she was with a ski school instructor, or even her with an instructor, ANY resort staff in the area that saw it would not have just skied off after the collision if there were any injuries. Also, how did they know it was her if it was a quick hit and run? I have trouble recognizing my husband with all his ski gear on.

I saw part of her testimony quoted in an article and according to her his skis went in between hers and he hit her from behind. It's not impossible she fell back on top of him.

However, I don't think she is coming across very well in her testimony. One of the attorney's asked her if the collision affected her enjoyment of what is a very expensive vacation. Deer Valley is one of the most expensive ski resorts in the country. Lift tickets are about $250 a day. Neither one of those people are hurting for money. I don't want to hear either of them whining about how much enjoyment they lost of an expensive vacation and for her to say "well we missed half a day of skiing" is eye roll inducing.

I'm on the side of why aren't you just going to get medical help and having your insurance take care of whatever it will take care of since you have engaged in a risky activity such as downhill skiing? Sounds like it's because it was recognized who it was. Ca-ching! $$$$$$$$$$ That's what it sounds like to me reading about it.

I‘ve had a snowboarder collide with me. It happens so fast. Like a split second. The extend of his injuries, I really question how she could recall he came from behind and skied between her skis and she heard grunting enough to ID him as male. It doesn’t ring true with my experience.

I thought that was super strange that she and the instructor skied off since he was laying face down unconscious. The whole event is strange.

I can't believe the ski instructor would have skied off if he was facedown and unconscious. After a collision it's totally possible that you may not realize you are actually injured until later but a severe concussion and 4 broken ribs would have been immediately apparent. Especially if he was unconscious.

I‘ve been streaming on my computer at work but I’m in the midst of a big project so have missed quite a bit of the trial. I wish I could hear the whole thing because I can’t make sense of it. I probably missed where they each talked about their skiing experience. That would make a difference to me. I’m not going to ski out of control on a beginner run and slam into someone.

As a personal injury paralegal I want to see the medical Reports. I have only seen snippets of the testimony, but I did see Paltow’s description of what sounded like a sexual assault and immediately didn’t believe her.
do you know why the judge reduced the plaintiffs demand from $3m to $300k?

I'm having trouble picturing that sort of collision on a "beginner" hill. Since they've skiied before, how did either of them lose that much control? Yes, accidents happen even on a beginner hill, It's not like they were on a steep "black diamond" run.

I should be on that jury, because I had no idea any of this happened. I wouldn't have even known there was a trial if not for the jury summons. I saw "Paltrow Trial" and though this was about her testing out her own concoction of IV fluids for a public release. Sold exclusively through Goop, of course.

You'd be surprised. I once saw a woman on a first time skier area that was so flat you could barely get going go kareening down the hill and nearly take out 2 little kids laughing the whole way because she thought it was funny she couldn't stop.

People are idiots and try to do more than they're capable of.
