We decided to do a palo brunch and am wondering how much this will really cost. I've recently read postings with dinners costing $300, $400 at Remy, and am now concerned that perhaps Palo brunch is not in our budget if our tab will be similiar to Remy.

So, please share your experiences and if you please cost so I can make the right decision.

Thanks in Advance!

Palo brunch will cost the basic cost (I think $30 pp but not sure) plus a tip. The amount to be tipped is a hot topic and you will get a wide variety of suggested amounts. You can run up a bar bill or wine bill along with it but we have always been very pleased with what we experience for the basic cost and tip.

The last time that I went to brunch, Palo's was $25.00 per person so for two people with tip it was $80.00. People tip differently, but now that it went up to $30.00 per person, we will probably give $90.00 unless the service is extra special. As a side note, we are not drinkers so we didn't order anything that may require an additional charge.

The dinner and brunch at Palo are both $30. We used to really like the brunch but since they have gone to the new format where they get all of the food for you, we do not like it as much.

Wonder was still serve yourself two weeks ago. It was just a few items that were cooked to order that they served.

Crap! I definitely under tipped Hristo. If you see him, tell him the Wests apologize for being cheap.

Don't compare your tipping to the tipping others do. It's totally discretionary and they don't guide us at all. So it's between you and your wallet. I personally haven't really liked the service at Palo, and don't find it to be amazing at all. So I get confused with peoples' huge tips.

Can we bring our own wine or champagne to Palo or Remy? We have two nights booked in each on our Dream cruise.

Thank you.

yeah, same here. Seems they are there to clear my plates; other than that, they don't do a whole lot. yes, they're nice and all but not any better than what Im accustomed to at any other semi-high end restaurants.

We were just on magic in norway. Price had gone up to 30 in Palo. But because we are platinum we get it for free. We ordered a 40 bottle of wine although we also had a bottle from the wine package that we had already purchased. If you have a wine package you can order that wine in palo and in the past we have brought the bottle of Proseco that we got as s platinum guest and drank it there with no corkage fee. We usually tip 25 to 40 for two people depending on how much we like the server and whether we order an extra bottle of wine.

Beyond the basic fee and whatever gratuity you choose to leave, it is totally up to you as to what your total cost will be. At brunch, you get a glass of champagne/mimosa as a part of the brunch, so unless you're looking to "biggie size" your alcohol intake at Palo brunch, it works out to be pretty reasonable. As for service, we were assigned the same server with whom we had established a very good relationship at dinner a couple of nights earlier, so he was very attentive to what we had on the table, making recommendations, ordering a couple of things in advance for us to try (knowing we were coming in), getting recipes for us, and just generally making our meal time very pleasant and enjoyable, so we were happy to tip him pretty well.

As for serving yourself or having them prepare your plate, that didn't really bother us. On our April cruise on the Fantasy, there was a bug/virus going around, so even the ice cream machines up by the pool stopped being self-service, so we were not surprised when the Palo brunch line was also served to us. Definitely makes you think about what you really want when you're asking someone else to get it for you, and frankly, that probably saves them a few dollars and me a few pounds...although, again, our primary server was very generous in his willingness to get us various "made to order" items "just to try", that adding a few pounds was not a particular challenge!

I would argue that Palo brunch is probably one of the better deals on the ship.

We had a server (can't remember his name now) on the Wonder in 2011 (our Alaskan cruise) that took such wonderful time and care with my mother. She was just recovering from an illness and needed assistance to walk. He insisted on taking her around leaving me to worry about myself only. She was so touched by him.

And last year on the WBTA - I can't say enough about Kat (on the Magic). She was fabulous. We had her for a group lunch in the private dining room and we kept her hopping! Loved her so much my smaller group requested her for our dinner and she did not disappoint!!

There was only one time (on the Fantasy) that my server was just okay but I can't fault him since we did not need alot from him.

It will be my first time dining at Palo in August (DD is 18!!). I have booked a Palo Brunch and Dinner on the Wonder. I have dined at Michelin Starred restaurants before and I will be dining at Eden (a 5 Diamond restaurant at Banff) pre-cruise. I will compare service at Palo to my experiences dining at these fine restaurants then tip at 20% of $200-250 per person if service is at par with these restaurants. It is always easier to have a bench mark for tipping. How much one tips is a personal discretion. I will tip what is reasonable and within my limit. Have fun planning!

We loved Palo's on the Wonder! The food was outstanding, but more importantly, so was our server, Cipri. We happen to have a reservation the day we were going around a hurricane and he personally took my daughter, who is in a wheelchair, around the buffet and made sure she got everything she wanted without it getting spilled. He took absolute great care with her and made her meal memorable. He provided excellent service to my husband and I as well. We also had him for dinner, which was also excellent. At the time the cost was 25.00, but we will gladly pay the 30.00 when we go on our upcoming cruise.

On the wbta last year, we did dinner. But we ended only to tip 5$. Becouse I told the waiter that I'm VERY allergic to chocolate and coffee, but not only did she serve me chocolate on my plate, she did it twice. And the second time (it was some kind of ice cream she told me that I could eat) there was a scoop of chocolate AND a scoop of coffee. If I has just taken here on here word, I would have been ill, for the rest of the cruise. 1 bite of a cookie that have chocolate, can cost high fever, rash, vomiting and I'm not able to walk.
