We've sailed three times and have never been to palo. We are going to "do" the palo brunch with another couple sailing with us and some fello "disers". What is the attire? Polo and shorts o.k.? What is the menu?

The dress for Palo brunch is supposed to be "resort casual." I can't recall seeing people in shorts, but I would bet they wouldn't turn you away. I usually go with a pair of khakis and a polo or Hawaiian shirt. The AC is pretty strong, so you may not want to wear shorts.

They have buffet with tons of pastries, bagels, fruit, seafood, etc., and then a menu from which you can order an entree. They have both breakfast and lunch selections. I almost always go with eggs benedict.

We wore nice shorts. They did not turn us away. In fact, I asked the Host if we were dressed ok, and he said I was perfect.

Shorts and a polo it is for me!!!!!!!!!

When we went to Palo brunch last month I didn't see anyone wearing shorts. I wore capris and a nice top, DH wore Dockers and a polo shirt. I saw quite a few people wearing suits and dresses.

We ate brunch there twice on our trip, and I didn't see any shorts either....I did see one guy in shorts at tea, but not at brunch. I wore a casual dress one trip, and capris and a white polo the next...DH wore an oxford shirt w/khaki pants and a polo with khakis.

I did ask a Palo server what the recommended dress for brunch before we went and he said "not formal like dinner, but still nice!"
The navigator states "recommended dress: resort casual - no shorts or jeans, please" right under the times for Palo brunch.

Once again, as the argument goes, it is the recommended, not the required!

Almost forgot to say what is on the menu....there are tables with breads, pastries, desserts, peel and eat shrimp, crab legs, salmon, cheese and crackers.....

Then they force you to order benedicts, pastas, beef....it really is terrible! Especially the champange...just bad:teeth:

It beats dinner, IMHO! Well, except for no souffle....

We ate at Palo for the brunch just a week and a half ago. Both my DH and I wore Bermuda-length shorts, as did almost everyone else in the place! I would say go ahead and wear nice shorts, and you will feel perfectly comfortable.

Now dinner, that's another story!!
