Palo brunch availability

We are on this year's WBTA which has 5 sea days. This is our last cruise as Gold and we will be Platinum on the next one. My daughter logged in just after midnight when our booking window opened and went directly to the adult dining option. There was no availability for Palo brunch on any of the days. There are four of us but we even tried just getting a reservation for my two DDs and there was still nothing available. I know there are quite a few Platinum cruisers on this sailing but I couldn't believe that wasn't any availability for brunch with 5 sea days. We keep checking every day but nothing has opened up. Guess we'll be in that long line to check for availability when we board the ship.

That seems peculiar. I wonder if there is a glitch. You might want to try calling if it's important to you.

It's only really important for my one DD as she prefers brunch to dinner. I will have my other DD try calling DCL and see if they can do anything. Thank you for the suggestion.

My 10th (and final cruise as Castaway Gold) is coming up. I logged in right at midnight for booking and was very surprised to find ZERO availability for Palo brunch for 2 people. It is offered twice on our 6 night cruise that has two sea days. Never had this happen before!

Just lots of platinums on my cruise? New normal on DCL? Classic ships now holding more back for concierge? What gives??
You don't mention which ship, but, if it's one of the Dream class ships, that's a lot of people who may be
trying for limited openings on only 2 sea days.

We are on the WBTA too and I was shocked at how little availability there was for Palo brunch, we did manage to get one, we are gold. It is not on the day or time we wanted, but I was just happy to have it lol. This is our first time travelling as a gold and the first time I have had difficulty getting Palo.

I know that some people called in the next morning and were told there was no availability left. I think part of the problem is that there are so many platinums on the cruise and they all get a free meal at Palo. I don't think there is much availability for dinner on the cruise either.

It’s the 6-night Bermuda cruise on the Magic.

UPDATE: Was able to snag a reservation thanks to someone in our cruise group cancelling theirs!

It does seem like they are holding a lot more reservations back for onboard booking now. Not sure how I feel about this - further devalues the gold and silver Castaway club levels.

My DW and I are doing the 5 night out of NY to Bermuda in October. We are Platinum and today was the first day to book. I went on line at 3:00 AM and made our reservations. I normally do this at 12:01 AM but I over slept. I know this is a little extreme but I never have any trouble making reservations when I make them this early in the morning. I'm sure you will be able to make them when you board the ship....best of luck!

I'm starting to wonder if all the many "Palo Brunch is the BEST" posts are making it harder to book. I thought it was just DCL holding back a bunch of tables, but now I'm not so sure. It's become a "must do" for many people, when in the past I don't think the demand was there.

That's the case for us. We read so many reviews about Palo brunch that we tried it on the last cruise. Slots filled fast for the brunch since there was only 1 sea day. I think the growing popularity and limited availability make the Palo brunch like a coveted fastpass.

This post is worrisome .... I was thinking it would be no problem to secure Palo brunch on our next one as there are six sea days but then just read a few posts up. I know asking on board is the default backup plan but it’s so much nicer to have a plan in place already!!
