I have received my Pal Mickey in the mail, thanks to the info on this board. I have him put away because I don't want the kids to play with him until we are on our way to WDW. I'm a little concerned about some negative things I've read on another board, about Pal Mickey not talking loud enough or saying much.

Any one have any tips on how to get the most out of a Pal Mickey?

We removed the clip thata came with it and used a water bottle strapped wrapped around his neck instead. This made it pretty easy to hang on to and pass around among our group. He vibrates and says "Oh Gosh" when he has something to say, so we'd take turns holding him up to our ear to hear and then passing him on to someone else. You have to press his hand within a certain amount of time to get him to repeat what he just said, so don't wait too long in between different people. We could hold him up so 2 people could hear together, but you really do need him close to your ear in order to hear. We enjoyed him on our XMAS Trip and are taking him back in 3 weeks!

We also held him up in some of our pictures, which turned out cute.

His voice is definitely not the loudest, but he vibrates and giggles before he talks so you can hold him up to listen. We didn't have any problems, and we even used him once in the middle of July in the summer crowds, just me and DD, age 6. We never used his clip either, that's a great idea about the water bottle cord! DD always carried him - or I should say usually. Sometimes I had to make sure I grabbed him from the stroller when we went in somewhere. I had thought about using one of those climbing clips (sorry I don't know what they're called) to hook him to the back pack. I think he says a lot! There a certain trigger points in all the parks. Of course make sure he's out and on when you go through the turnstiles.

He's fun to play with - the games are fun and his jokes are corny but cute. Maybe the other people had bad batteries?

I echo the sentiment of not being load enough. I thought it was just me (too many rock concerts as a kid). Glad I'm not the only one. He's still fun though!
