Pal Mickey Question?

Pal Mickey updates as you enter the turnstiles the front of the Florida Disney World Parks only. You don't need to do anything other than have him out (not in bag or back pack) and facing forward and he will up date him-self.

What you won't get is the new games etc. that the NEW AND IMPROVED verion comes with. Personally I plan in keeping my OLD AND LOVED one for quite a while before giving disney another $65 for a new PAL.

I was JUST thinking of this before I checked this board tonight-- please bear with me if this question has been answered already:

The Pal Mickey we bought in 2004-- he will update when we go into the parks.... will he update with info on the NEW attractions? For some reason, I thought I read that he would not update on Soarin', etc....

I'm curious about this also. I just bought two PM off ebay before I investigated it at all. However, the ebay listing said that you would get ALL up to date information in the park and these PM sell for $65. The PM I received are the older version, no tux. AND have price tags of $13.99. I paid considerably more for them. Will these older versions get the all the information on new rides?

I turned my (old) Pal Mickey on the other day and was going to play a game but he now only seems to be telling non stop jokes. What do I have to do to get hime to play a game (I no longer have the instructions). Can anybody help?

The older versions will NOT give you information on the new rides. Don't ask me to explain why, they just won't. They do update when you walk in the park, but they don't have the ability to accept info on the new things like Soaring.

DH and I were there in Nov/Dec and I brought my old Mickey and bought a new Mickey. I wanted to know what the difference was, so I wore both in all 4 parks. While many of the "info" was the same (it was fun turning them both on at the same time and have stereo!), there were quite a few times the new Mickey would go off when the old Mickey didn't. Sometimes they would go off together but tell different things.

My instructions say "Squeeze both of Mickey's hands for at least 1 second and then release them to hear Mickey tell you the Game Menu."

Game Menu:
1. "That Isn't Here" Game: Squeeze Mickey's left hand
2. "Fast Friends" Game: Squeeze Mickey's Right hand
3. "Mickey Says" Game: Squeeze his tummy.

How to Stop:
If you want to stop playing a game, just squeeze and hold both of Mickey's hands for at least 1 second.

Quick Starts:
You can always skip over Mickey's Game Menu and go directly to the game you want to play by squeezing his left or right hand or his tummy. You can also interrupt Mickey's game introductions to start the game right away by squeezing one of his hands or his tummy once you have played tht game a few times.

Oh, I am sooooo sad! I just called and they said they have cycled these out and they have no more! what to do?! I can't afford the newer one! Is there another one I can call or do you think they are all out?

So the newer version of Pal Mickey wears a tuxedo? Is that how you can tell them apart? I was going to buy one off eBay before my trip, but I want to know what I'm getting.

You can always keep an eye on Ebay but they are quite a bit higher there.

Yes, the new one has a tuxedo and the old one does not.
