No the Buzz Lightyear clothes won't fit. I was really bummed because when I first saw it myself I thought with alterations it would. But I own the Buzz outfit along with a Snow White and Tink's costumes and they really are too big for Mickey or if they ever did a Minnie.
We have found clothes everywhere. My one friend is a big Boyd's fan and has used some of the clothes from a few of her Boyd's. She managed to find us a sweater (the 3 of us have a similar core of clothing) at a Christmas store. Not sure how since I'd looked there too and they had stopped ages ago selling just Boyd's sweaters. It was a tight fit over his head and it would be nicer if his sweater had a slightly larger opening but otherwise it's a perfect fit. For anyone who lives near the Boyd's Country store or plans on visiting around it I would suggest seeing if they sell clothing separately. My friend went but I can't recall what she remembered them having and at the time we weren't looking for Mickey.
Again the friend has in the past had different bears that were dressed that she has now stripped. She had a bear dressed witha bomber coat and this past summer she found bears at a drug store that were like $3.99 each which is where our little guys shorts came from.
I've bough a couple of Starbucks bearistas which gave mine his corduroy pants and jacket and his Santa outfit.
The t-shirts at build a bear are large on mickey but we have a couple that we just use anyways. 1 of their t-shirts were bought for them when a friend traveled and had brought back gifts for the little guys.
shoes from build a bear works great but watch the sketchers they are heavy when carrying him around the park all day. The one Mickey gave his "mom" a sore neck on our last day because of his shoes. Mine's wears his sandals when we go to Disney and at home he has sketchers and black loafers for when our little group meets for shopping and dinner
If you do Build a Bear I highly recommend you take him in and try the clothes on him. The baseball caps work, the sunglasses work, oh Mickey now has a winter hat and mittens that he did take with his last trip down to disney (last year's marathon weekend was freezing and we wanted him prepared *g*) He has a raincoat that was from last Springs collection which is huge but for a drip here or there fine, mine's was present for Frances and he did stay in the room the monday following Frances, the raincoat would never have held up to those downpours.
we always go to the same build a bear so they are used to seeing either the 1 Mickey come in or all 3. My friend decided to be cute and had a birthday party there for me (we're adults that refuse to grow up *g*) and when she made the plans the store employees told us to make sure we brought back the Mickey's. The store employees had a blast watching us try on all the Halloween costumes for the little guys. I think I have pictures of mickey dressed in his pumpkin outfit and I know his Dracula pic is up. In the pumpkin out fit he's really small but you now he reminds me of how little babies look when their parents dress them up in their 1st halloween costumes. those little faces looking out from those poofy costumes! LOL he's adorable! and that same thought and view was why our 3 little guys also have the Build a bear Turkey outfits! LOL
Now just to show how Pal Mickey touches people even away from the parks. When we were there the first time (build a bear) trying things on him, one of the ladies there started talking to us and come to find out she was heading to disney world herself for her daughter's b-day. while we hunted for clothes for Mickey we were able to give her all the do's for when she went and to tell her about the b-day buttons. monthes later (halloween) and she was working again and we were able to hear how well the little b-day girl had enjoyed her visit and the excitement they had on their visit.
anyways, if i think of more i'll post but alot of times it's just a matter of seeing something and trying it out. like the target build a bear items, which are also sold at downtown disney now. but the safari hat at build a bear is way too big. hopefully that is one item Disney will bring to us when their stuff hits the shelves.
enoy the little guys, i hope he brings many magical moments to you.
