I cannot believe that I got a glimpse of these FP+ phantom glitches too!! My check-in day is a bit over 30 days .....
I actually think admission to the WDW theme parks is pretty reasonable. Compare it to admission to Luna Park on Coney Island, which right now is $65 for four hours. And not only is that not the only venue on Coney Island, but that doesn't even include all the rides at Luna Park--the thrill rides are a separate, 2-hour admission for $42.This is true. But, it seems to me that Disney has gotten so much more expensive in recent years that those with limited means are pretty much already priced out. Prices for everything at Disney have shot up at rates much higher than inflation over the past five or so years. I'm sure that families in the bottom half of the country in terms of wealth and income still visit --- saving carefully, staying offsite, packing their own lunches, etc. But it gets harder and harder for them every year. And, as you say, it seems like they are forced to miss out on more and more of the experiences that make Disney so enjoyable for those of us lucky enough to be able to afford them.
I suspect that some version of free fastpasses will come back, at least for those staying onsite. I also suspect that it will be supplemented by some version of paid fastpasses. I just hope that Disney prices and limits the availability of the paid ones in a way that doesn't grind the standby lines to a still. If they do, that might actually make people who can't afford the extras better off than they were pre-Covid.
FWIW flash forward a decade and WE are super-users of the current FP+ system, and would like to be again - in at least a limited basis going forward.I wasn't referring to the question of whether Disney will charge or not as much as the barbs being traded about people "exploiting" the system. I had flashbacks to the heated arguments about how some of us were uber-abusers of legacy FP.![]()
The fp+ system was overhauled into the park pass systemI got a glimpse of the same exact screen...but the icon was blue so, excitedly, I clicked on it. Unfortunately, it only took me to a page on planning your park reservation and no links on setting up a FastPass. (My trip is less than 60 days).
Afterwards, when I clicked out of that page the FastPass+ selection was gone.
Hopefully, this is right around the corner. Fingers X.
Agreed. You can do Disney at a very reasonable price. You may not be able to do everything that you want, but being able to go to the parks and experiencing the attractions is not ridiculously expensive at all.I actually think admission to the WDW theme parks is pretty reasonable. There's nothing horrible about staying off-site and packing a lunch. I've done it--in fact, I've stayed on-site and packed a lunch.
Yes, people save for a long time to have what might be called a premium experience at WDW and there are certainly people with greater means who can stay at deluxe resorts and eat TS meals, etc., etc. But I think that WDW is still pretty affordable for almost anyone--or at least as affordable as it's always been.
Read a report on Mickey Blog that FP+ machines were spotted at Epcot and MK. Some were turned on.![]()
I hope you don’t mean those old machines that gave u a paper ticket

If they do, I hope there are online methods for getting FPs, not just the machines. Our FP runner is all grown up and doesn’t travel with us anymore!I hope you don’t mean those old machines that gave u a paper ticket

Or who don’t have cellphones.No. Mobile kiosks for people to sign up for FP+ options. Not the legacy fastpass. This would be for people whose cell phones have died, can't get a good connection, etc.
Hmmm... in an ideal world, this would be my booking order:View attachment 578271

Just for fun, lets say FP+ is available for booking today and you are within the 30 days window, how would you book your FPs?? Which ride/day would you book it first?
Oh, this is the most promising indicator we've seen in a while!Read a report on Mickey Blog that FP+ machines were spotted at Epcot and MK. Some were turned on.![]()
