Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

But who are these people? Do they actually have a trqck record of being correct. I've never heard of them and no one else so far is saying this.
I've watched his videos in the past, I can't say anything about his track record as I've never paid attention to rumors from him before.

Seems like this type of system would incentivize shorter stays or at least be more appealing to folks with shorter stays.
Right. I've got a 12 day stay coming up with 10 park days. Granted, that's exceptionally long due to Covid-19 reschedules, but that would be $1000-$3000 per person. So for my family of 4, it's $4000-$12000 for the entire trip!

Some rumor. That Disney is talking about keeping admission at lower level. But increasingly prices To do away with the poor and only take care of the middle class.
Do away with AP. Charge for fast passes or increase hotel prices with fast passes added.
the old system is not returning in its old form

You wouldn't have to buy it and most wouldn't. Most would still use the regular standby lines.

Above I stated how unreliable and how little faith I would put in anyone from Resorttv1. In my opinion they are the worst of the worst of all the vloggers, constantly doing ads ON STREAM for local dry cleaning business's. Never seen anything like it. Anything they say is worthless to me.

On the other hand, Mickey Views is LEGIT. Right up there with Mongello, Hill/Testa, in terms of reliable accurate information. I know for a fact he has imagineering friends as well. Good sources. And yes, he does have a good track record. I know he has broke news before as well.

Wow this is all so crazy and frustrating. Here I was hoping for Fp+ to return by mid June and all I can think about is how much this is like cedar point. You pay double and still have to wait 30 mins compared to the 2hrs plus others are waiting. I think he has been right before, Mickey views, which is worrisome. Time will tell and hopefully things don’t get too expensive but now I’m worried.

The FP system and line is still being used for DAS, rider switch and when rides break down, so it’s not like the park pass system overtook or eliminated it.

AK closes at 7, so I would really love to see an after hours event 7-11pm

Hmmmm, I am in the minority I am sure, but as the video described it, I dont know if I would mind a virtual queue system to replace standby. I will have to mull over the pros and cons. All of our virtual queue rides on Rise of the Resistance were either walk-on or a 5-10 minute wait max. Maybe we hit the line just at the right time, I don’t know what other guest experiences have been though. If you can hold more than one virtual queue at a time or you can get your next one after tapping into your last one then its kinda like fastpass. I also admit we are among those that would pay the money for Lightning pass if we could ride whatever we wanted all day whenever we wanted with no restrictions. But there is only 2 of us and I would get it for maybe half the days of our usual 8 night trips. But it would probably be more than $100 a day if it truly was all day no restrictions because it would then be cheaper than the After Hours parties which had limited hours. No way an all day lightning pass is cheaper than a limited 3 hour after hours party. So I could see it being at least $200-300.

The jist of it is it will be part of Genie and the average price would be between $100 to $300 per person per day. It would also change to be more like Universal's system in that you no longer have to pick a time to come back.

I would be all over that. My time is worth the added cost. We have actually avoided DisneyWorld because of the lack of paid get out the dang line pass.
We go to Universal once every couple years as a family, and I go on girls trip in the non family trip years. We stay at Hard Rock, family trips we stay club level.
I am not sure if we are the target customer base for Disney. We would not get get APs, or stay on site, though the Wilderness Lodge has a pleasant restful look in pictures. We would not likely visit yearly.
But, hells ya would I be all over a paid express pass.

Let's assume the high end of this is correct. Let's assume(and I believe this absolutely) they do away with Annual Passes like Land.

Now let's say you have a family of 4. Your daily cost for tickets and the new "lightning pass" would be $1680. That's for no lodging, no parking, no merch, and no food. Sound like a good time?

It does for me if I'm able to avoid long waits.

Things just got real

I'm not sure the high end of the rumored price (which I must note is also for a rumored only product) would make sense. It basically provides a VIP tour minus having to pay an actual guide. Those are roughly $495/hr with a 7 hr minimum and a max of 10 guests. So let's just call it $350/person. I think pricing closer to the high end of Universal Express Pass would seem more likely. Given the way WDW tickets are now sold it would seem like tier pricing would also make sense.

Here's where I think things could get interesting. If they followed Universal, they could throw in "lightning pass" for Deluxe or DVC stays. It would also be one heck of an incentive to get folks to buy DVC direct. As they take more onsite perks away, this could single handedly make it 100% worth staying onsite for many guests.

I think no one knows the final iteration of what this will look like, but I definitely think driving DVC sales as well as onsite stays (and the higher prices they can then charge) is on their radar.

I also expect to see the virtual queues expand, even if it's only for the newest rides or rides where the lines continually spill out into the walkways (SDD, SDMT, HM, FoP, and maybe a few others).

I'll miss the old FP+ system mostly because I could get nearly any ride I wanted and by constantly refreshing I could snag more later in the day. But, Disney is all about change so hopefully there will at least be some techniques we can master to get the most out of whatever they throw at us.

I'd be all for this! I'm DVC and the times we stay on cash we usually stay deluxe. Throw in this hypothetical "lightning pass" and it's all the better!
