I'm so freaking mad  they updated hours during our trip and this has been added on our HS day. We planned on rope drop so we could try to get our little guy to Jedi Training. We can't change our HS day because the only other day that works is also a day with this stupid ticked event. I can not add another $200 to ride tsmm, star tours, a few character meets and pastries at the commissary. I'm so ahhhhh. >:(:badpc:

The pricing of that event utterly shocks me. (I feel the same way about the dessert parties, but that's another thread.)

$70 for two rides, some character meets and breakfast? Seriously? And you have to pay for park admission too?

I guess there are a few people who would find value in that, but there can't possibly be many. I think you should keep your plans.

Don't change your plans. We did an early ADR at MK during one of the events. We were not able to even tell anything was going on. Especially at HS because what you want to do is not included in the premium event you shouldn't see any impact to your plans.

The only issue may be that the line for JTA could potentially be very long by the time regular guests get in the park. But no one knows for sure how they will handle that...i.e. letting the EMM guests go ahead and line up, or sign up, or not open the line until actual rope drop.

It sounds like the EMM at MK actually saved the value for the PPO ADR vs the regular, early 8am MK openings that ruined the point of the PPO ADR.

OP You are over reacting. There is not even any reports available that this impacts the JTA sign up. And, as stated, the EMM had little effect at MK. Get there at rope drop as planned and everything will be fine.
Relax and enjoy your vacation.

My guess, based upon the fact that they allow PPO ADR groups to sign up for JTA before park opening, is that they'll allow the EMM crowd to do so as well. If I paid for this event, I'd immediately sign up for JTA, then go on to other attractions. You might actually find that there are less people in line for JTA sign up at rope drop because some have already signed up.

We purchased the EMM for HS on our morning. We are also doing the MK one. To us, the HS one is less of a value, since I'm not crazy about the Star tours ride, but it allowed us to use our FP for other rides than TSMM and ST, which made the planning for the day go really smooth. I did read about the concern for the Jedi training, so I guess it would just depend on how many sign up for that that go to EMM. My daughter is way too old for that, so not something we are planning on.

There are no reports bc it hasn't happened yet. No one knows the procedure yet, so no one knows how it will affect JTA sign ups. It's a little condescending to tell the OP they are overreacting when, in fact, you nor anyone else has any idea how this might affect them.

You are absolutely right. NOBODY KNOWS. My point exactly. I continue to believe the OP is overreacting as if it is going to ruin her day. She can't possibly KNOW that.

from what I understand they are letting those with pre-park opening dining reservations the opportunity to signup before rope drop...so why would this be any different??

and that said...yes, I was one who begrudgingly paid for the EMM for exactly the same reason as the OP is upset about...so I'm in the same boat.

My point is there is no way to know how it will affect her so it's perfectly normal for her to be concerned. You act as if she shouldn't be. Why do you care if she is or not? Why tell others how to feel?

Also, for the Jedi Training signups, the age limits are 4-12 so it's not like every single person going to the paid event is going to have a child that needs to get signed up. So, there might be a dozen kids (I put that at a high end) that MAY get signed up before the people at rope drop. Given the number of kids in a show and the number of shows in a day, the OP's child will get signed up if she is there at rope drop.

Oh, I don't know, Jedi Training is pretty popular, as are pre-open ADRs as a strategy to sign up early, so it's not too big a stretch to think that a decent number of people at the EMM would be interested in signing up for Jedi. As one PP suggested, maybe the signup process itself will not be bad if the EMM people are all finished with signups by the time regular day guests are able to get in line. The downside would be a likely lack of availability for the earliest shows. Those certainly are the ones that fill first and I could see where EMM people want to do their event, proceed straight to Jedi, then be on with their day.

OP - I'd hold on to optimism that the signup process won't be any longer than usual, but assume that you'll have to be even more flexible about show times. If you're going to FP Toy Story that day, it's generally recommended that you DON'T move it in an attempt to fit in Jedi (because chances of finding another Toy Story time day-of are slim). To make your day as flexible as possible, don't also make any ADRs that you'll have to work around.

Good luck!! Jedi Training is a really cool event and I hope the event doesn't end up impacting you too much.

It's not necessarily getting signed up...it's the sign up line that's the worst. I got in at 8:30 in June and had to wait in a 40 minute line to get my son signed up. Hopefully OP won't have to stand in a 40 minute or longer line but EMM could potentially affect the wait time.

Try not to worry. We were recently there with our 7 year old GS and 4 year old GD. As the previous night was a late one we didn't get to HS until a little after 10:00. We had no wait at the JT sign-up and got them both into the 3:00 show. Hope your little one has a great time.

If I was interested in JTA sign ups and just found out a bunch more people would be in the park to line up ahead of me, I wouldn't be happy either. Nothing about the MK event is similar to this part of the DHS event to predict how it will go.
