Sometimes when I read the monthly challenge thread, I am just floored by the number of pages people get done in a day or a weekend. It's not unusual to see someone post that they created 15 pages that day, or 40 over the weekend.

How do you guys do so many pages in a relatively brief period? A two page layout can take me 4 hours from start (choosing and printing photos) to finish (gluing the whole thing onto the paper). I think the most I've ever done in a weekend is 6 pages, though I've never had a weekend that was devoted exclusively to scrapping.

Please share the secret to getting so many done:).

I work best, doing a little at a time. If I rushed and did a lot at a time, all my pages would look the same.

I scrap backwards, I do my pages and then print my pictures to go with my design which helps. I keep a list of what needs to be scrapped and go with that. I did 6 pages at a crop a couple weeks ago. Took me 6 hours or so? I'd have more done if I was scrapping at home - less distractions but I love the social aspect of crops

Doing 50+ pages over a weekend is fairly achievable for me....I print my pics ahead of time. I only print the pics I want to scrap.....then I decide how many pages for each "event" I want to have...ie. halloween might have 6 pages (3 2-page spreads)....When I scrap Disney, it takes me a bit longer...I try to make each page special & really capture what we did & experienced. My pages don't look the same, I try to make them all different a little.

I'm a way compulsive planner! This is the only way I ever get any pages done! If I'm working on a particular album (Disney or family or something), I go through my pics (which I print beforehand) and pick out the paper(s) for the backgrounds, the paper for the mats, and embellishments for that page. Then, I write everything down on a piece of paper, put the stuff for those pages together, put the embellishments in a bin, and go to the next one. Once I'm done (and planning an album for me takes a LONG time--I guess I'm slow), then the bin has the first page's embellishments on the top and the last page's on the bottom, and the paper is stacked that way, too. I have the piece of paper as well where I've written what topic is for that page, what color paper, how many pics, embellishments, and if there is anything that needs to be cut with the Cricut.

Like I said, I'm probably way too over-planning, and honestly, the creativity (whatever it is) that strikes me when I'm planning is what goes into the album. When I'm actually to the scrapping part, I just follow the sheet. I do change up stuff if I think it looks similar to one I just finished, but I'm also not very, very elaborate.

That's just me, though! ;)

I can usually do several in a day. I am a planner and then some. First I print my pictures and then I make an excel spreadsheet of the pages or themes for each page. This way I can tell which 2 pages will be next to each other or if I have to add or subract pages. Then I pick out and write down the papers and embellishments I plan to use. Then when I have a weekend it gets done in pretty good time. I am a very simple scrapper with few embellishments per page. I would rather have more pictures.

Another planner here. The only time I ever get a ton of pages done at a time is when I have pre-planned them out. I have a notebook with an overview of the whole album. I do all the journalling ahead of time so I don't have to break stride with the scrapping to think about what I want to say. If I'm just working at home, I don't do this, but if I'm going to a crop and I have the time to do it, I put photos, matting cardstock, background paper, journalling, embellishments and any Cricut cuts, together for each page in my case/container. That means I've already spent hours before I even get to the scrapping part, which is then just a matter of assembly. I don't do this every time, and if I don't I get a lot less done. I never did that before this most recent album, and this album went together about 2 years faster than any other album I did, so the planning works for me!

I do planning beforehand and I use a lot of swap elements having the mats and other embellishments premade helps. i tend to plan out what I am doing and choose my colors. Then I will do all my journalling and print it out. I will then cut any titles or anything else I need. Then I have everything ready to go and just need to stick it together.

I also have a few albums set up in my wishblade files- I have a baby album I make anytime someone on our facualty (we have about 100 people) has a baby shower and it takes me a certain number of pieces of paper, everything is set up I just choose the colors and then cut, glue and am finished- so when I do an album like that it goes fairly quickly. The first time setting things up took awhile now I can do the 20 page album in less than 2 hours.

Sometimes I am making the same page over and over and then I can get a lot done at once. Right now I am working on a set of ABC albums- 3 of them. All of them will have the same pages so I really only have to think out 1 of them and then copy for the other 2.

I want the secret as well. The fastest I have ever done a page is 45 minutes!

My problem is that I get my pics all cropped and laid out the way I want them, and then I can't decide what colors/papers/etc to use.

I need a secret!

For the most part, I'm a very slow scrapper. To speed things up or to make a bunch at once, I use Club Scrap's Assembly Line Scrapping when I get a kit in the mail. They're a great monthly scrapping club and they include the pictures of how to use the entire box of materials. It's great at the end to have a bunch of neat, completed pages that are just waiting for pictures.

Really though, I'm a slow poke.
