Just wondering if the Pack n Play that seems to come in the DVC rooms can be taken away by Housekeeping?
I didn't think these came standard in the room? But I have seen a photo of the "lists" they have of what comes in a DVC room and this is on the list...

We have zero use for it and it will just be in the way.
If we can get Housekeeping to take it away will they make a note of this so they don't think we took it or something after we leave???

Thanks :)

Yes, the pack-n-plays are standard in all DVC villas. They are folded and have a cover so they only take up a space about 6"x6"x3' in the closet. I wouldn't have it removed just for the reason you asked about. If it's in the way, it might fit easily under the bed to be out of your way (just remember to put it back in the closet when you leave).

There is ample storage space in the closets for them. They really are not that big when folded up.:thumbsup2

At AKV, we always slide it right under the master bed....fits perfectly.

It's not like we're going to store anything else under there. (According to many, you're not supposed to store luggage on the floor...it's one way to keep bedbugs out of your luggage).

It sits in a corner of the closet folded up, it isn't in the way. I don't have kids and I really don't even notice it's there. There's also a high chair in one of the closets. Never touched either.

But how often do you use the vaccuum? ;)

(We've never used the pack and play or the high chair. We have used the vaccuum - maybe twice. But they really aren't in the way. Any more than the pots which we've never used, the colander we've never used......)

Good suggestion about putting it under the bed. It was a problem when we stayed in a 1BR at Kidani. Between the high chair, the pack'n'play and the pedestal safe, the closet in the master bath was so full I couldn't hang up any clothes. The high chair would not fit in the closet near the kitchen because of the washer/dryer. We ended up stashing it in the 2nd bathroom since we weren't using that bathroom. I can't remember what we did with the pack'n'play. I would have preferred not to have either of those things in the room at all. It was a pain to have to find places to stash them so that we could unpack.

Great suggestions, thanks! I never thought of either one.

I'll have to try slipping the pack and play under the bed. Does anyone know if it fits under the bed at BCV?

I wonder how often they are used? Someone should do a poll.:rotfl:

I truly hate having them in the villas. Besides taking up so much space, they must harbor a zillion germs. It is one facet of DVC that I despise. Truly.

But it looks like I'm almost the only one!:goodvibes

One of the seldom mentioned BWV advantages is the HUGE amount of closet space. I have more closets at BWV than I did in my first house.

Does the master BR closet door open out at BWV? At BCV it opens inward so there is total dead space as a result.

I think it slides, although I can't really remember for certain, but someone will probably come along to confirm. I know that we fit all four suitcases on the floor open in there.

The pack and play and the vaccuum are in the front hall closet, which we don't use.

We had this problem in our studio at BLT. The bed was on a pedastal, so we could not put anything underneath it.

I agree and I love BWV and OKW for that reason. I love having all that storage space!

And I think that's why it was frustrating trying to unpack at Kidani. Instead of a separate closet housing the washer/dryer, they put it in the entryway closet. That takes up so much space that most of the other items normally housed there (high chair, pack'n'play) were moved to the master bedroom's closet. Add a pedestal safe instead of a wall safe and you have now filled up the master closet! Very annoying!

I'm with you! As DVC continues to reduce storage space in each new resort they build, it's time for those items to be available on request rather than be in the room by default. I don't use them and in the new resorts they are really in the way.

I don't even think I barely noticed our P&P in the previous 3 2BRs we were in. Really they are folded and not in the way; I dont see the need to remove it as they don't take up much space

I for one would not want it removed. When we first stayed at SSR in a studio, I was able to get into the room at noon with a very sleepy 18 mo, and there was no pack n' play. We waited for 30 minutes before housekeeping was able to come bring one. With a sleepy and cranky kid, that 30 minutes felt like an eternity!

Ugh, I can commiserate! We had the same problem (17 mo old) at 9:00 pm with it missing at GC a couple years ago... traditional hotel room, but problematic none the less.

I'm sure it is LOVELY in a 2BR but we don't all stay in 2BRs do we...
No I'm staying in a STUDIO I need every inch of space.

I agree how many people need a vaccum - especially in a studio. I think a small handheld one would so on the wall.

I'm not happy that BLT I can't even put it under the bed. This is where we really need every inch of space.

sigh.....
I don't know any other timeshare that has this.
Westin has the best designed studios I have EVER seen and they even have full sized single matress as a rollaway.
