Packing Lanyard with Pins on Plane

I usually bring a pin trading bag full of traders to WDW. I always just put the pin bag, open, in one of the TSA bins with my liquid 3-1-1 bag and watch. Never had a problem. The one time I was thoroughly searched was when I left my pin bag in my backpack and the metal showed up as a blob on the x-ray machine. Now, I just make sure it is out and open and no issues!

I have heard many horror stories of anything of a collectible nature going missing checked luggage. I will never put anything but clothes and shoes in checked baggage and if it is too big for carry-on, I would ship it home. Better safe than sorry. Have fun pin trading - it is a blast!

We carry our pins on every time and never had a problem. Security opened our bag to check inside once because they couldn't tell what they were on the X-ray. That's about it. No other issues.

A couple years ago I worried about the same thing after we had already checked our luggage for ME and forgot to leave the pins in one of the bags. I thought surely they would be seemn as a security risk and we would have to leave them behind. I asked a CM at the resort and he said he never heard of it being a problem. When it came time to go to teh airport, I put the lanyard in my purse. Never had an issue at all.

Been there, done that, traded them.
