We have been to the parks several times but never in December...always in May - August. I just realized I have no idea what to pack for the trip we are making Dec. 14-23. HELP!! I'm assuming that the days are warm enough for shorts but the nights probably not so do I need to pack two things for each day or is it possible to just throw a hoody on for evening? Anyone who's been there in Dec. and can help that would be great!:santa:

We were there Nov. 29-Dec. 8 last year. I wore capris most days, DH mostly wore jeans. It does get warm enough for shorts in the middle of the day, but not usually so hot that you'd be uncomfortable in jeans. We wore short sleeves and took a jacket that could be easily tied around the waist. We usually needed the jacket til around 9:30 or so, and put it on again around 6 or 7 most evenings.

It was hilarious to see the locals at MVMCP wearing winter coats, gloves, and scarves, and I was in capris and a t-shirt! It was around 60 that night, but felt cooler after the sun went down.

I think it depends on what you're used to. When my husband and I went, we were in jeans and long sleeve shirts during the day and a jacket at night, but I think 60 degrees is cold.

You can never go wrong with layers and I would bring one good warm sweatshirt just in case.

:lmao: Last year we were in capris and shorts and t-shirts, even in the evenings. Now year before last we were there same week and nearly froze to death. Just check your extended forcast. Below 65, I would be more inclined to wear long sleeves. It gets cool in Epcot near the water. The humidity is what makes it warm during the day so my MIL swears by bringing "her layers".

:) We are still running our air conditioner along the MS Coast. I am thinking shorts and hoodie for evenings at this point.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I live in Ohio so it's already cold here. 60 degrees seems balmy to me at this point but I'm liking the layers and capris idea rather than taking a chance with shorts and being cold. Thanks!

We're from NH and probably fall into the capris, occasional shorts and sweatshirts at night category. That being said we did MVMCP last year in early Dec and I had no problem convincing DH to wear the silly Mickey Santa hat, because it kept his head warm. :rotfl:

Definitely could have used gloves that night and was glad we had a couple of extra layers.

I am starting to organize for my first December trip to WDW as well. Layers:santa: I found some cute long sleeve snug fitting shirts(multi colored with cute prints on them) at the end of winter last year for like $1.99 at JCPenny. I will layer them with my cute disney t-shirts and capris and jeans. My ds 10 has a couple of pair of zip-the-leg-off pants. My dh and other ds 13 jeans maybe a pair of shorts.:laundy: Happy packing.:cutie:

We pack a little bit of everything. You will likely need some warmer clothes.
Have a great trip.

i'm packing 4 days' worth of everything: capris, tanks, jeans, t-shirts - figure worst that will happen is i'll need to do some laundry.... (during the 8 nights we're there)

We are going to be there in December as well. Although I do expect cool weather there, it still is going to be extremely comfortable for us. We are hitting 30's at night and high 40's and hit of 50's during the day. We were there Dec 2008 and we were swimming! Shorts everyday and maybe a sweater at night. But of course that was 10 years ago.

I can't wait!!!

I'm packing mostly capris and long sleeve tshirts. I figure I can always push the sleeves up. I'll tie a hoodie around my waist so I can wear if I get cold at night.Last year I was there in early November and only needed it once but was glad I had it. Should I pack a swimsuit for the jacuzzi? I would love to soak in it after a day in the parks if it's not too cold.:goodvibes

You just never know here in FL, where I was born and raised! Three years ago we were in WDW the week before Christmas, and it was so very frosty cold!! It felt like Christmas. The next year we were disappointed, because it was too warm (I like it cold for Christmas!). So, I would pack clothing I could layer, and a heavy coat/jacket. That is what I plan to do when we go (Yay!! Free dining in December, so sweeet!!).... :yay: :yay:

the past two dec's we've gone its been pretty warm. I am always cold so the first year I wore jeans and tee shirts, but would get a little warm during the day. That was in early dec. Dec 07' we went the week of Christmas and it was almost to warm a few days! We both wore shorts and I wore tank tops also. There were a couple cooler days as well that required jeans/tee for me. I also always have a longsleeve tee to put on along with a hoodie that I keep in a locker or carry. I am a huge fan of being able to peel that longsleeve tee on and off at a moments notice. And its great b/c if i'm not to hot I can just pull my sleeves up. We are going dec 13th-21st and hoping for some more shorts/tee shirt weather this year along with a few jeans days! :goodvibes Perfect disney weather for us. :thumbsup2 hth

We have been at WDW the last 3 years either the week of or the week after Christmas. We have been HOT, and had to buy shorts one year, comfortable for a few days another year, then looking for jackets, and last year we FROZE!!!!! We had to buy extra sweatshirts, fleeces, hats, scarves and gloves last year, and the snow on Main Street was real, not Disney special effects and the temperature was in the 20s at night and 40s during the day. Bottom line, plan for a little of everything, and pack things you can layer if it's cold.

We went in 2000 during the 2nd week in December. We're from Georgia, so we're used to it being hot most of the year. We planned on wearing jeans and tee shirts the entire time. It was so hot most of the time that we had to shop for shorts to wear while we were there.

We will be coming from our Mexico honeymoon to our Christmas Disneymoon. I just IM DFI and told him we needed to rethink packing and add some jeans to the mix! Might as well pack a trunk!:lmao:

I'm having the same issue - we are going in Jan from northern Minnesota. I'm assuming it will be warm to us, but I just don't know what to pack!! I'm thinking mostly capris - but then there is the whole shoe issue! I can barely dress myself when I'm at home - how do I do it when I'm so far away.............. Yikes!!

I'm glad that I found this thread. We'll be at WDW Dec. 8-12 and I'm very curious about the weather. We were planning on jeans and a jacket that we could tie around our waists or put in a backpack, but I see that the weather can swing either way. My question is this...how reliable will the weather forecast be? If we check weather.com a day or two before we leave how much faith should we put into the temperature forecast for the next 6 or 7 days?
