Here's Lils in her Wall E skirt. DH, with his great fatherly wisdom, decided to let her take a little nap 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave for the movie. She is not too happy that I woke her up! And thanks Michelle! I used your Wall E design from the DISign boards for the "apron". I just cropped it and added a border. I totally CASEd Sugarbees on the skirt

Hope everyones 4th was fantastic!!!
So cute!

The shirt looks great! love the green!
Thanks!

I really like these!
Thanks!

Linnette, you continue to amaze me! You did all that in one day? You definatly can sew circles around me. I love that "easy" top. Did you use a pattern? I would love to try one for me.
Sew Beautiful has instructions to alter an Aline:
http://www.sewbeautifulmag.com/article/issue119.html

Thank you! Maybe it was the juvenile fall fabric? I know that was 60% off a few weeks ago. It doesn't look fall-ish, but who knows! The cowboy fabric I used on Hannah's dress was in that section, so it was only $2.40/yard!
I think it was juvenile but I didn't see your cowboy fabric.

No i know I have to have this pattern. This is adorable. The fabric is too cute.

This dress is looking great. Can you find a black and white button? Or a dotted button? I think the Daisy works. But if you could find something to contrast, you might like that better.
Thanks! I did a little search on the net for black and white buttons and came up with a necklace made from buttons and got the idea to use a larger plain flat black button with a smaller white one stacked on top. Maybe I should do that on one side and the opposite on the other side.

I had a really whiny day yesterday. I am really frustrated. Riley is now spending another weekend in pain until the culture comes back on the sample she left Thursday. We are having to wait until Monday because of the holiday.:confused3
 Hope Riley can find some relief!:wizard:

That looks great! I love those fabrics.
Thanks!

This one is just because I love how happy Riley looks in it. I took it on the beach at Coney Island last month. Thanks everyone who is keeping her in their prayers!

What a wonderful photo of your beautiful girl!

Here are lots of photos from our 4th. We had a BBQ at my sister's house with her family, my other sister and her family, my nephew and his new wife, and another nephew, his wife and 3 kids. We did fireworks there also and I just have to say because I was worried our puppy would be scared of fireworks but she was totally fine and happy! I made Lily's dress, Jayden's shirt, Luke's shorts, and Seth's guitar applique shirt.

So sweet! I love the colors they are great!
Thanks!

I am making outfits for our trip to Hershey Park....and here is a quick preview. Its Carla C's stripwork top and I had to enlarge the pattern from a size 8 to a size 12/14. Since she gives you measurement charts, it really helps...plus I held the pattern piece up to her several times to get the exact measurement. If you have any questions....let me know. Here is how the top came out.. I am making her "easy fit shorts" too plus the same outfits for my DD3 and DD4 so they will all be matchy matchy...:rotfl:

Great oufits and great photo! Your DD is so cute!

Have fun at the WallyE movie!!! :thumbsup2

I literally hold the pattern piece upto my DD and see if it "fits" before I cut fabric, etc. The only thing I messed up on was that I didnt make the elastic long enough for the straps but I didn't want the thing to hang down too long so.... oh well...its managable.

OK so here is the whole outfit...I just finished the shorts:

SO cute!!!!!!!

I finally finished something for The Big Give 2.

This is Carla C's bowling shirt pattern. I'm really thrilled with how well this pattern came out. I love that it is lined. I also have cut out a pair of matching shorts out of the Nemo fabric. Do you think that the cargo pockets should be blue or orange?
P1000161-1.jpg

Here is the back of the shirt.
P1000156-1.jpg

I will get my 4yo DS Jack to model in the morning when he is awake.

I am also going to make a bowling shirt for Hannah out of these fabrics. I love having the chance to sew with pink! I only have boys to sew for so this is fun.
P1000157-1.jpg
Awwww that shirt turned out so cute! I love it! I can't wait to see the other one you make!

I made a bowling shirt today too. For my tomboy DD(5). She loves lizards so I thought this would be perfect for AK. I was hoping the placket makes it a bit feminine and the buttons almost look like flowers. I think I have enough of the lizard fabric to make one for my DS(7). I just need to find a good masculine contrast fabric for him.

Wow girl...you are one speedy seamstress for sure!!!! Love all the stuff you made!!!

dance006.jpg

Here are the kiddos in the field behind Price Chopper. My friends kids are so tiny. They are like miniature people! She actually has an 8 year old boy and a 6 mos. old little girl who aren't in the picture too. She's a much better person than I am!

We had a great time and my friend and I got to sit and talk while Riley played big girl and took care of the little kids. It was just the thing I needed!
Hey you...I just sent you a PM. Sorry Riley is still not feeling well. That has to be tough. I am so glad you were able to get out and talk with your friends. Friends are wonderful when you are down, aren't they!!!!

Love the picture!!

Just for fun I wanted to show you guys the girls in their dance recita costumes. The pictures aren't great because I had to be backstage and Chris took them and obviously photography isn't a great skill of his!

This is "Sea Cruise" from finding nemo dance. I love that they get up there and forget what they are supposed to be doing!
dance002-1.jpg

This dance is "splish splash." This costume was so ugly it was cute. The skirt is long fringe! The girls loved that.
dance.jpg

Riley's dance to "It's Raining Men." Riley fell back in love with dance this year. She went even on the days she was feeling awful. It was really great to have something that she loved doing during the last tough months. She is doing a competitive team next year!
dance003.jpg

This is her "Lowrider" dance. It was pretty cute watching all of these pampered little girls trying to act all tough for this dance!
dance008.jpg

After! It's amazing how stressfull a child's recital can be.
dance011.jpg

This one is just because I love how happy Riley looks in it. I took it on the beach at Coney Island last month. Thanks everyone who is keeping her in their prayers!

Awww they look so cute in their dance recitals. And I love the last pic of Riley at the beach. She is so pretty!

AWWWWWWWWW she is such a cutie!!! I love the Goofy outfits. I have been trying to think up a good idea for a Goofy outfit as well. Yours is so cute!

Grandma update: I went to the hospital to see her today and she was looking better. The diuretics they gave her took 15lbs of extra fluid off of her body in a few hours! They had her off the nitroglycerin and the oxygen. Her blood pressure is still going up and down quite a bit, so that worries me. But, she was walking around and they're thinking of letting her come home tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your prayers!!
Awww I am glad your grandma is doing better. I sure hope she gets to go home!!!

We're all so excited! I asked AbbyGrace the other day, "When we go to Disney, what is the first thing you want to ride?" She looked at me like I was really silly, and said "the AIRPLANE!" :rotfl2:
:lmao: :rotfl2: Now that is one SMART little girl you have there!!!!! That totally had me laughing!!!!

Her face is so funny in those! It just screams "please just get this over with!"

Riley was up late sitting with me and she thinks those green sandals are "hot"! I was a little shocked by that, but then they are pretty hot so what could I say???????

So the movie was good? I have a hard time making myself go to any cartoon movie that isn't about a beautiful princess. Thank goodness I had girls!

I hope Riley gets to feeling better soon, we realized that after they finally took my kidney out that I had probablly been sick for about fiveyears. I just always told my husband I didnt feel good we didnt realize my kidney had shrunk to the size of a plum. My back always ached I thought it was just from getting older. Come to find out it was herditary we thought I wouldnt have the same problem as my mom because she had to have her kidney removed at 25 an I was 42 when they removed mine. I never had any infections show up on the cultures that is why they didnt figure it out till I got a cyst and it was getting bigger than the kidney. I hope you find someone that will listen I had great drs here in Texas. I know how shw feels I just had no energy the dr told me it was because my kidney was not filtering out the toxins.
Good luck
Sheri

Thanks Sheri and everyone who has mentioned Riley here and in pms. I really appreciate it. Riley has started a new drug in the last couple of weeks. She had some pretty painful tests that showed her bladder is spasming so badly that she is having trouble emptying it. In the last couple of weeks we have been to the walk in clinic and she is to the point where she can't get anything out at all. The fact that she is getting worse is worrying me like crazy.

I am furious that there is even one test that hasn't been performed on her. I have an appt. to take her on Aug. 9th to see if the flomax is working, but I am going to call and ask for the test to be moved up. I need her to be able to go to school. She missed most of the last quarter of last year and I don't want that again. She really does love going to school!

I am really at the end of my rope. I am looking into mayo clinic, but I know that when I call they will want to know what has been done so far. If they know that there are tests scheduled they will want to wait to find out what the tests show.

There are no other docs in KC. We are going to have to travel no matter what, but I am not staying where we are. I was told that this might be all in her head and that she may just be wanting to be with me so she is faking. I was livid. I actually said... "BS" only I used the words and I don't normally talk to people like that. I know her and I know that she is not faking. She spent the entire day before our NY trip in the ER getting a cath and then vomitting from the pain meds they gave her. She has missed school parties and birthday parties. Kids don't fake things like this. She isn't faking when I find her sitting on the toilet at 3 in the morning crying because she can't go potty. If anything she fakes that she feels o.k. so she doesn't have to go to the hospital!

Well, you just got a rant from me. I'm a little stressed tonight because she'll finish her antibiotics in the morning and I know that she will get worse by night. On the bright side, Chris is home tomorrow so he can stay with Drew and she won't have to sit up there with us.

thanks everyone for sharing your sewing experience , it really helps to know how many skills so many of you have acquired in such a short time. today i tried to applique a mickey head, ( thanks for the bookmarks) it came pretty good i think. love everything as usual. will post new pics soon.

Denise, I've been "window shopping" here for a long time and have read much about your Riley's problems. One of my friend's has a dd8 who had symptoms just like Riley. She was also told it was probably in her dd's head too!!!!!!!! That is so horrible!!!!!!!! She finally took her dd to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). At the first appointment, they told her to diary for one month every single food (with all ingredients) that went into her dd's mouth along with any symptoms. It turns out citric acid is the culprit! Once they totally eliminated any citric acid, her dd's problems cleared up and she has been painfree for two years now.

I hope that you can find the source, whatever it is, of Riley's pain and that it can be treated asap. My dd13 was finally diagnosed with multiple food allergies last year after 18 months of horrible, writhing-on-the-floor, abdominal pain. It is awful to have your child hurting when you cannot do anything to help.

I had a really whiny day yesterday. Riley has started her bazillionth round of antibiotics and since her surgeon was out for the holiday the nurse practitioner prescribed what we have all known for years is useless. She wouldn't listen to me and give me something helpful. I am really frustrated. Riley is now spending another weekend in pain until the culture comes back on the sample she left Thursday. We are having to wait until Monday because of the holiday.:confused3

Anyway, I was sitting here feeling sorry for us all day yesterday and then I talked to a friend and we met her behind the grocery store to watch the fireworks (both dh's were working). I couldn't take the girls out where the whole town goes because I was worried that Riley would need a potty.
dance006.jpg

Here are the kiddos in the field behind Price Chopper. My friends kids are so tiny. They are like miniature people! She actually has an 8 year old boy and a 6 mos. old little girl who aren't in the picture too. She's a much better person than I am!

We had a great time and my friend and I got to sit and talk while Riley played big girl and took care of the little kids. It was just the thing I needed!

We don't get to do much for entertainment lately with a sick kid for months and months so I decided that yesterday we were going to go get some junk food! 6 mos. ago this wouldn't have been such a big deal, but we are trying to help Riley's issues by eliminating some of the ingredients in food that can be irritating to a bladder. We have taken out HFCS, anything with food dyes, any other artificial sweeteners, any hydrogenated oils, lots of certain preservatives, caffeine, and lots of other stuff. Going to the grocery store has turned into a scavenger hunt for me!

So yesterday we drank real soda, ate a candybar, chocolate krispy creme donuts, and ate cheetos with our lunch. We all felt like we were living pretty wild!!!!!

So today Drew is telling me how she is about to barf and Riley has spent most of the morning on the potty. Oops! So much for being wild girls. We just don't have the tummies for it anymore.:scared:

I myself feel like this!
dance005.jpg

I think we are all going to have to spend a little extra time on the wii fit and the treadmill today!

I am new here and I don't know what is happening to poor Riley but i wanted to say I sure hope she feels better soon!. i can totally feel your pain with having to read every ingredient in EVERYTHING! My dd has celiac so she can't eat anything with wheat rye, barley malt or anything derived from these glutens. If she does she gets awful tummy aches and is on the potty all day in tears. It makes eating out a huge challenge because it isn't like we can just order a burger and take the bun off her food can't be any where near gluten because just a small crumb can make her sick. I also have a feeling she is sensitive to a certain dye but I can't figure out which one. When she eats certain cereals that are main stream like Mickey's Clubhouse which is said to be Gluten free she gets awful tummy aches again. If it is brightly colored it is a no go for her since i can't figure out which one.

Thankfully the gluten free diet seems to be the diet of the moment so many new products that are gluten free are available so it is getting easier.

Sorry for the novel I just wanted to let you know I feel your pain on the label reading! Heck yesterday i got a new chapstick for Nikki and I thought it was safe for her the dh read the ingredients and he says the active ingredients are safe but what about all the other ones that aren't listed:scared1: So now I am just hoping she does't have a reaction since mommy ade the mistake of letting her use it:confused:

Here are lots of photos from our 4th. We had a BBQ at my sister's house with her family, my other sister and her family, my nephew and his new wife, and another nephew, his wife and 3 kids. Heather and Teresa, I just wanted to say I am so sorry about your grandma. i will certainly e keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.

So I tried to make my daughter a fully gathered top and didn't do it right. I wanted to have it very full like this one. How many times her waist should I use in fabric. The top portion was made from a store bought "pattern". And I just winged the bottom half. The top was 25 inches around and so I made my strip to gather 2x that. It wasn't enough though. I used the ruffler (which OMG I love that so thank you to all of you who talk about it because I have never heard of it until here:yay: :yay: :yay: )
I don't even have shoulder straps to try it on her properly yet, but I am trying to get it right before I use the disney fabric.

I tried to crop the picture to put on here but was unable to figure out how to. I kept wanting to be the entire picture. Thank you for any help you may offer, Valerie

looks good so far! love the colors. I really am itching to make some ruffles!

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great 4th! We did the parade wa a blast...DD was so excited because people were yelling that they loved her drew...okay...made me feel good too!!!

Today I went to do some shopping with my parents before they went back home and I met mommyof2princesses !!! It was really funny because we pulled into the parking lot at the same time in the same area...this is weird because it is a HUGE parking lot! Now that I think of it...I really am not sure how that happened...other than I was heading for the Disney store where she works.

Here is our proof...

Lucky you at MK yesterday! Morgan and her new friend look great! Aren't kids so cute when they get new friend? My mom bought Nikki a new American Girl doll yesterday and she is so cute with her. Of course she needed another AG doll like she needs a hole in the head! My mom is isuc a sucker:rotfl:
My parents leave today and Nikki has already started the water works. and hysterics. I feel bad but this goes on all day when she leaves.

Have fun at the WallyE movie!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Cindee.

There's a little pond thing in the hospital and Tessa keeps throwing pennies in it and wishing that Great Grandma will come home. Teresa said she did the same thing when I was in the hospital a couple years ago. She's such a sweetheart.
Glad your grandma is doing better.
OMG what a sweat that Tessa is.

Ok, let's see!
September 19-28th
We're staying at POR Riverside (we got in on the FREE DINING deal! We're gonna eat our way around the world! :rotfl: )
We've got lots of great ADR's (since we've got free dining!)
1900 Park Fair
Rose & Crown
O Hana
Hollywood & Vine
Norway Princess dinner
Biergarten
Liberty Tree
Cinderella's RT

We're all so excited! I asked AbbyGrace the other day, "When we go to Disney, what is the first thing you want to ride?" She looked at me like I was really silly, and said "the AIRPLANE!" :rotfl2:
AbbyGrace is 40 1/2" tall now, so it will be her first trip to be able to ride all of the 40" rides - she is really psyched about riding Soarin'!

I just can't wait!
Silly mommy of course you ride the airplane 1st!:lmao:
Great ressies!

This is so cute! your poor little one looks so sleepy. did she wake up enough to enjoy the movie?

On the bright side, Chris is home tomorrow so he can stay with Drew and she won't have to sit up there with us.
this so breaks my heart!!!!!! One of my good friends sons has been having issues eliminationg they are just starting treatment with him i keep hoping they figure out what is up asap.

Ok that dr that said it was all in here head OMG can i slap him?! Seriously that infuriates me to no end!

I really wish i knew of a great dr i could recommend for you.
i really feel blessed to have great drs for Nikki. I think I will thank them again next time I go in which hopefully won't be for awhile. My little girl was actually failure to thrive a the beginning of the school yr. She was so tiny it was scary. We didn't think to much about it since she was always tiny but once she started her new diet we couldn't get over how she filed out and her ped was amazed at the difference and how she grew so fast in a few months. At almost 7 she was barely47lbs. she is still tiny but thankfully now she is tiny but not looking sickly.

I pray Riley gets the help she needs. any time you need to vent we are here.

thanks everyone for sharing your sewing experience , it really helps to know how many skills so many of you have acquired in such a short time. today i tried to applique a mickey head, ( thanks for the bookmarks) it came pretty good i think. love everything as usual. will post new pics soon.

Ok why can't I find this in the book marks I have looked twice:badpc:

It is awful to have your child hurting when you cannot do anything to help.
Oh do I know this one. I am glad they figured out what was wrong. I hope your little one is doing better.

So...:wave2: Hi It was great to meet another DISSER today!

QUOTE]

Hi Moonks Mom,

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I went shopping at the same Disney Store this afternoon, and I met mommyof2princesses. We started talking about making disney clothes, and before I knew it we were talking about Disney World and the DisBoards. She told me that she met you earlier today. How cool is that to met a fellow Diser. It just goes to show you, It is a small world after all!!

Hi Mommyof2princesses, :wave2: :wave2:

Take care,
Marianne

It was so cool to meet 2 fellow dissers today! And they are both from this thread!!! I was on cloud nine all day yesterday! What chance to meet 2 on the same day! Hope we can plan a meet up one day! We all live relatively close!!!

And I wanted to say that we are praying for Riley here.. I can't imagine having a child in so much pain and there is nothing you can do. My dd4 has had problems with urinating but for a different reason. We were able to fiqure out the problem and we know what to do what it happens. I hope and pray they can find out what is wrong and help her recover. :grouphug:

I am so far behind that I'd have too many multi quotes in here. Suffice it to say that I am again amazed at the talent & creativity in this group! ;)

Here are some of my recent projects.

The Cinderella Petti-as you can tell Morgan likes it LOL.

And a plaid spinny:

livndisney....that cindy petti is absolutely beautiful. can i ask you something? I am a 100% certified non-sewer...can't barely sew a button. Long story short, I am trying to find an ariel petti and I know what I want in my head and that cindy petti is just about it. I'm thinking something in the ariel green and sort of "fin-ish" looking, hitting DD at right about the knees. She just received an ariel costume, 2 piece, for her birthday and I love it, but the botton is ankle length and I know she is going to want to wear this for MNSSHP in October, but I would love to get a different skirt that is a bit shorter and easier for her to move around in. Do you sew & sell by any chance or know someone on the boards you could get me in touch with? I can send a pix of the costume I have (when I figure out how to do that, I could also do via email if that helps). PM me if necessary. Thanks for any info/advice you can throw my way!!

We went to MK this morning. It was GREAT!!! No Crowds at all. We got Dream fastpasses and a Meet and greet with the Princesses.

We have a new "member" in our family-this is Morgan and Danielle in matching Goofy outfits. Goofy LOVED her outfit LOL

And she went on Splash Mountain and had a blast (it was soo funny a WALL of water got her LOL)

I love Morgan's goffy outfit, that was very clever. I am so jealous I wish I were in disney yesterday!
