You are an enabler! I can't spend anymore $, I am already going to hancock's with rara today to get fabric to make my SIL a cindy dress for MNSSHP. I have never been to a hancocks before because there are none close to my house so I know that I will probably spend way too much! So the last thing I need to do is shop on disney but now I must check it out! I have been meaning to write that I have your grandma in my prayers and am glad to know she looks better. Please keep us updated!

My little girl was actually failure to thrive a the beginning of the school yr. She was so tiny it was scary. We didn't think to much about it since she was always tiny but once she started her new diet we couldn't get over how she filed out and her ped was amazed at the difference and how she grew so fast in a few months. At almost 7 she was barely47lbs. she is still tiny but thankfully now she is tiny but not looking sickly.

Michael will be 7 in 2 months and I think he only weighs about 45lbs. He is a skinny stick!

Denise, I've been "window shopping" here for a long time and have read much about your Riley's problems. One of my friend's has a dd8 who had symptoms just like Riley. She was also told it was probably in her dd's head too!!!!!!!! That is so horrible!!!!!!!! She finally took her dd to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). At the first appointment, they told her to diary for one month every single food (with all ingredients) that went into her dd's mouth along with any symptoms. It turns out citric acid is the culprit! Once they totally eliminated any citric acid, her dd's problems cleared up and she has been painfree for two years now.

I hope that you can find the source, whatever it is, of Riley's pain and that it can be treated asap. My dd13 was finally diagnosed with multiple food allergies last year after 18 months of horrible, writhing-on-the-floor, abdominal pain. It is awful to have your child hurting when you cannot do anything to help.

It makes me so mad to think of a doctor saying something is in a kids head. Unless there has been a mental evaluation and they have reason to believe a child is making it up, that should never be said. I am sure that there are cases, but I think it is a pretty dangerous path for a doctor to choose without being 100% certain.

In our case, Riley has maybe spent 30 minutes total in a room with this guy. He has never spoken much to her or asked me questions about her personality. You would have to know a child pretty well and know their life circumstances to know whether or not they were making it up. I would think that there would generally be a pretty obvious reason for a child to do that, divorce, death in the family or some other traumatic event. Riley has absolutely not reason at all.

I am new here and I don't know what is happening to poor Riley but i wanted to say I sure hope she feels better soon!. i can totally feel your pain with having to read every ingredient in EVERYTHING! My dd has celiac so she can't eat anything with wheat rye, barley malt or anything derived from these glutens. If she does she gets awful tummy aches and is on the potty all day in tears. It makes eating out a huge challenge because it isn't like we can just order a burger and take the bun off her food can't be any where near gluten because just a small crumb can make her sick. I also have a feeling she is sensitive to a certain dye but I can't figure out which one. When she eats certain cereals that are main stream like Mickey's Clubhouse which is said to be Gluten free she gets awful tummy aches again. If it is brightly colored it is a no go for her since i can't figure out which one.

Thankfully the gluten free diet seems to be the diet of the moment so many new products that are gluten free are available so it is getting easier.

Sorry for the novel I just wanted to let you know I feel your pain on the label reading! Heck yesterday i got a new chapstick for Nikki and I thought it was safe for her the dh read the ingredients and he says the active ingredients are safe but what about all the other ones that aren't listed:scared1: So now I am just hoping she does't have a reaction since mommy ade the mistake of letting her use it:confused:

You know the worst thing about the food is dealing with people who think that I am just being a psycho about it. I am really not! I allow Riley to go to friends houses knowing full well that she may eat something that she doesn't know isn't "safe". She knows the obvious, koolaid, soda, candy, but there are lots of things that she may eat and think are o.k. I know that I can never make it 100% but I try my best. I let her have a gatoraide on memorial day and the next day she was sick again. I am thinking that we just need to be "extra" cautious until her body can settle back down from this flare up and then we can go back to just being "pretty" cautious.

It is funny though that now we have cut out so much, when we do try to "cheat" we all get pretty sick. I am really worried about our Disney trip in January. We really love our Disney treats!

I just make the yoke and then squish the tule as I sew it on!

I made this one really short for some ballerina pictures that my nephew did.

My 90 year old grandma has been in the hospital again since Thursday. They just diagnosed her with congestive heart failure. My grandpa lived with this for quite a few years. But, we're really worried about her. She's been so healthy up until a few months ago. I know she's 90 years old and she's lived a full life and all that. But, if you could say a little prayer for my grandma (her name's Bethel), I'd really appreciate it. :grouphug:

Prayers said!

We don't get to do much for entertainment lately with a sick kid for months and months so I decided that yesterday we were going to go get some junk food! 6 mos. ago this wouldn't have been such a big deal, but we are trying to help Riley's issues by eliminating some of the ingredients in food that can be irritating to a bladder. We have taken out HFCS, anything with food dyes, any other artificial sweeteners, any hydrogenated oils, lots of certain preservatives, caffeine, and lots of other stuff. Going to the grocery store has turned into a scavenger hunt for me!

So yesterday we drank real soda, ate a candybar, chocolate krispy creme donuts, and ate cheetos with our lunch. We all felt like we were living pretty wild!!!!!

So today Drew is telling me how she is about to barf and Riley has spent most of the morning on the potty. Oops! So much for being wild girls. We just don't have the tummies for it anymore.:scared:

Have they checked her for an autoimmune issue? My mom was getting frequent urinary tract infections and did all of the above trying to find out the issue. Turns out that she has an autoimmune problem and the UTIs were her body attacking itself. Sorry that she's going through this...poor thing

Hi Ladies (and Gent)
I'm back from Maine. We had a lovely time relaxing at the beach and enjoying seafood! And now I'm back and caught up. Beautiful work over the past few days! Hope everyone had a great 4th!

Ok, let's see!
September 19-28th
We're staying at POR Riverside (we got in on the FREE DINING deal! We're gonna eat our way around the world! :rotfl: )
We've got lots of great ADR's (since we've got free dining!)
1900 Park Fair
Rose & Crown
O Hana
Hollywood & Vine
Norway Princess dinner
Biergarten
Liberty Tree
Cinderella's RT

We're all so excited! I asked AbbyGrace the other day, "When we go to Disney, what is the first thing you want to ride?" She looked at me like I was really silly, and said "the AIRPLANE!" :rotfl2:
AbbyGrace is 40 1/2" tall now, so it will be her first trip to be able to ride all of the 40" rides - she is really psyched about riding Soarin'!

I just can't wait!

We'll be staying at PORS from Sept 20-29. We've lots of ADR's, but we'd do that anyway. Well, this year. Next year, Kirsta will probably be out of the Character stuff, so we might just do a few (unless we do the free dining).

Here's Lils in her Wall E skirt. DH, with his great fatherly wisdom, decided to let her take a little nap 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave for the movie. She is not too happy that I woke her up! And thanks Michelle! I used your Wall E design from the DISign boards for the "apron". I just cropped it and added a border. I totally CASEd Sugarbees on the skirt

I've been waiting for the Wall-E fabric to show up around here. Nothing new yet.

Glad you have a fabulous time!! That beach looks relaxing!

Ohhh, Thanks. How many layers do you sew on? Or is it just one but squished up that much???

I was planning on making a tied tu-tu, but if I can make a petti, that would be even cooler for my girls. Also, about how many yards goes into one petti?

I have added that to my list of questions! Thank you so much!!! I am always open to new ideas.

Beautiful 4th pics and outfits. Cindee, so glad to see you and morgan. Danielle is adorable. That is so cool that you got fast passes from the dream team. Keeping my fingers crossed for our kids to get a little extra magic on our trip. I'm also glad to hear that it wasn't to crowded. We are going in 2 weeks and I'm dreading the crowds.

I didn't get pics of Lily in her 4th twirl (bad mama) I will put it on her a little later and snap a few.

I am at zero hour for my big give outfits so I will have to get them both done this week. I will try to get them both cut out so that wednesday when DH is at poker I can sew them up. So I'd better go make sure that I have all of the patterns that I need printed out.

I'll see you all in the am.

..t.

I added the small edge ruffle first and just scrunched it and sewed it right down the middle. After that I added the other layers one at a time. I did 2 at first and was happy, but after I lived with it for a few days I wanted it to be fuller so I added a 3rd. I went back over the raw edges where the yoke met the tulle with my serger and topstitched the hem up to the yoke, but I'm kinda psycho about topstitching so that could probably be left out.

If it were longer I would definitely do 3 or 4 layers so it wouldn't be too sheer. I think I had 5 yards of tulle for the shorter skirt. I really can't remember. I did it really last minute so I had to just go with what was available at JoAnns. I would love to get the really soft stuff and make a real petti someday!

It really is pretty forgiving. It is so full that it hides the "raw" edges. When I got to the end of one strip (cut lengthways from the piece you buy so 5 yards long) I just started with the next. You can barely find the ends even when you are looking for them.

I think it's worth giving it a try. I am trying to decide if I am going to make the one's for Drew that I want for our Jan. trip or if I'm gonna be lazy and buy them!

Grandma update:

SHE'S HOME!!!
I called her at the hospital this morning to see when I should come up and see her and she said they were going to release her at 1:00. She said she's felt better than she has in months. This has probably been coming on for a while and getting all of that fluid out has really helped her feel better. Yay!! Now all I need to do is walk next door to see her, instead of driving 40 minutes to the hospital!

Great pictures and such a pretty girl!

I was thinking autoimmune when you mention that she has "flare ups". There are SOO many autoimmune diseases out there, so it would be hard for them to test her for all of them. But, they might be able to take her symptoms and narrow it down a little.
