Here is the top that I asked the question about a page or two back.

The gathers are not what I thought they would be but it is a sweet top.

Here is the close-up of my ladybug applique.

ladybugoutfit1.jpg

I was contemplating put another ladybug on the "peek" of the skirt but since the applique on the bodice doesn't show on the inside (the top is lined and I did the ladybug before attaching the two pieces) I'm afraid it will look weird with just one showing on the inside of the garment.

I plan on making shorts to go with this top and possibly putting a ladybug on one of the legs of the shorts.

that came out too cute!!! I love the ladybug!! Now I have to try this pattern. It has been sitting in my stash for a while, but I really wasn't sure how cute it would be. i love this one!!

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.

Anyway I have moved my kiddos around and we have an extra room now that we only have intentions of trying once and even if the outcome is multiples we would put them in the same room. So I will for at least now have a sewing/ craft room! YA first for me to have enough room! For those of you that have a sewing/craft room what color did you paint it? I am trying to decide on something inspirational :) Any ideas? This is the room I am going to put a long work table along the wall where DD is sitting on the bed. And the shelves will hold my fabric and notions. DH wants to put a peg board on the wall for me to hang ribbon etc. My sewing machine will go smack in the middle of the shelved wall.

Thanks:thumbsup2 I am still nervous about it but am going to get my machine this weekend. What did you start with that eased you into sewing? I want to jump in but don't want to drown.
I had not sewn much of anything in over 15 years when I started making a few things for my youngest DD for our May trip. I started with youcanmakethis easy fit pants and they came out so good that it gave me encouragement to keep going so I moved on to the A-Line dress, simply sweet top, and patchwork twirl skirt.

Here is one dress that got done. DD2 is wearing it, so messy face and chasing her to get pictures was alot of fun. :hyper: :hyper: DD4 was at gymnastics but has the same dress.

Had to post my newest addition.

Attikus is a month old already, I think I may cry.

Just and everyday outfit, but DD loves it b/c it is princess. She wants to wear it to bible school tomorrow.
Cute!

Hi Everyone,

Here is Abby in the watermelon outfit I made her. I used some peoples suggestion about 1 button on the shoulder, and found watermelon buttons to use there!!
th_abbymelon.jpg

I used the 4/5 size for her - do you think i should have bumped her up a size for the round neck part? does it not cover the shoulders enough???? thoughts??? thanks!!

wendy
That is really cute. It looks like it would be too big if you made it any bigger.

OK, so I have really just been briefly checking in the past few weeks because things have been so busy, but I just uploaded all my pics, so I will give you the run down of what we have been up to:)

I made a few cakes... Here are a couple.

And we celebrated Julia's Halfy Birthday. (you read that right, we are sooo cheesy that we celebrate the 6 month bday)
th_sdcardcleanup500.jpg

yeah... yeah... the cake decorator got lazy...
th_sdcardcleanup504.jpg

th_sdcardcleanup507.jpg

This was the first real food Julia ate. When I fed her cereal a few days later she was disgusted. I think she thought it would all taste that good:rotfl:

And clean up...
th_sdcardcleanup513.jpg
Cute cakes! Great skirt! Julia is a cutie! Love the photo of her looking at the cupcakes all wide eyed!

I LOVE that! I almost bought that pattern a few weeks ago.

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.

  Hope the IVF works for you!:wizard: :wizard: Yay for a sewing room.:woohoo: I bet my DS wishes I had one as I have my sewing maching on his desk.

I think that I might have dropped a few quotes-
Jham- love the skirt and WOW!!! on the fabric. I am jealous. I also have a thing for dots.

Heather- love the cake- great job. And you said you did do well decorating cakes! The outfits are super cute too. I agree with pp, Tessa looks FAB in green.

Had to post my newest addition.

Attikus is a month old already, I think I may cry.

P1000850.jpg

Have some cute material for Disney in September. Now if he will just grow, that way the rompers will fit.

He is a doll! Atticus was one of my top names for Cooper. I think it is such a sweet name.

Here is DD4 in her dress, she wasn't happy that I took pictures of her sister and not her.

I am pretty sure I dropped the first pics- great job on the dresses and ADORABLE girls! The oldest looks a lot like the pictures I have seen of my mom when she was a little girl.

Here is a couple of dresses, still have to add the straps.

I think it looks great. No idea about it covering the shoulders as I have so far resisted buying this pattern. Love the buttons- clever idea.

Oh that's sounds like heaven. I got sick of the meltdowns that went along with this hair
beforehaircut.jpg

SOOOO, I cut it all off!!! But you can see from my recent posts, it's already passed her shoulders again!!! I can't wait to get back from BBB so I can cut it again! Mornings were so enjoyable when it was this length.
afterhaircut.jpg

She is a beauty either way! I really, really like the short hair though.

OK, so I have really just been briefly checking in the past few weeks because things have been so busy, but I just uploaded all my pics, so I will give you the run down of what we have been up to:)

What do you think this is supposed to be?

I am too cheap to spend $15 on the double layer stripwork form YCMT, so I tried to figure it out myself. lol...

And we celebrated Julia's Halfy Birthday. (you read that right, we are sooo cheesy that we celebrate the 6 month bday)

I also made something for Rob for father's day I want to share, but those pics need to get loaded still.

I love the Wall E dresses!
I love the Minnie peasant! Great job for a first dress!
The latest big give outfit is fantastic!
And Heather, it looks like Sawyers BDay was a blast! Great cake BTW!
So cute! You have been busy too! Great job on the cakes.

I know that the circle is supposed to be red, but there isn't much/any red on the fabric and I though it would look weird. I think that I am going to make black shorts. This shirt is for Jackson. The 3-4 will fit him perfectly. I will make the smaller size for Coops. I think that Cooper will have a black stripe so that Wall-e shows up a bit better. I will make Coops yellow shorts, maybe. I don't know.

My DD has short hair, and somehow, magically, they were able to put it up and make it look like she had long hair when she visited BBB. It was the best of both worlds.

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.

I am so, so sorry. I can't even imagine... I'm so sorry.

As for the sewing room. My sewing room is the same color as the rest of my house (not real inspiring, but I'm leaving it the way that it is). You're gonna have lots of room to play! Have fun setting everything up.

Heather and Teresa! I was searching around the trip report board and found a report about a young college girl who is in the Disney college-training program. She is writing about her experiences....interestingly enough, she is a FGIT!!!!! I was reading it to see if it shed some light on your very grouchy FGIT.....not so much....this girl is a ball of energy. But here is the link to her report

That is really darling! I love how you made the top collar pink and added the black. Can you make just the collar bigger? I didn't notice it not covering until you mentioned it and I went back up and looked. I think the rest of the shirt is perfect (and honestly unless you want her shoulders covered, it is perfect).

Oh that's sounds like heaven. I got sick of the meltdowns that went along with this hair

Ugh, I don't think I could deal with long hair on a girl. DS had long hair until he was about 3 and when I mean long, nothing like most girls, but past his shoulders easily. It was always such a mess and the car seat made little nests in it! I finally just cut it all off!

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.

housepictures005.jpg

I am so sorry it didn't work out!

On a brighter note a sewing room will be nice! Mine is yellow, by default though, it was Dallas' room when he was a baby and I just can't bring myself to tear down the Pooh border! I really like yellow though. Our other bedrooms right there are blue and lime-ish green, so I would probably want it yellow anyways. When I had it in the basement in that bedroom, that room is blue.

Those shelves will be so nice.

I missed alot of quotes and didn't go back too far but love the Wall-E shirt. I hope to get some fabric once it is online too! Great job.

The princess outfit (just simple everyday clothes) is so cute. I can see why your daughter loves it!

Sawyer's birthday and their outfits are adorable!

I know there was more!

Addikus, sorry if I spelled it wrong, is such a little cutie!

I forgot to add from the other day, the question about STAR WARS and LUKE SKYWALKER! DH has wanted me to make Dallas a costume like that since his 2nd halloween. I haven't done it but think about it every year and every time I look at a picture I totally think of taking a darn Karate outfit and dying it a bit and making it work. It totally looks like it would!

ms mckenna just want to send you a  , sorry about the adoption, hope the IVF works...

I am also jealous of all you guys that have a sewing room, I do all my sewing in my bed!!!!

Wonderful pics everyone. I was several pages behind so I didn't want to have a mile long post w/quotes. So many cute outfits and yummy looking cakes. Someone asked about sewing machines earlier. I'm on my third machine now and it's a Singer Industrial machine and I love it. Not the prettiest thing in the world but it keeps up w/what I need to do and whips those pettis through in a heartbeat. My serger is a Brother and I love it w/all my heart, lol. I also have a Speedylock serger but I'm not that crazy about that one.
