Heather and Teresa....up to date on the trip reports. Can't wait to read more. But can I just say that the more I read about your "less than magical" experience with BBB, I really think you have to file complaints! I've read that some little girls had their hairdos last OVERNIGHT. I don't think an hour is two much to ask!

Here is a couple of dresses, still have to add the straps.
My DD2, who is my stinker!:hyper: :hyper:

DD4, Either will be a dress with a ruffle added to it, or be a shirt.

Absolutely love the dresses of course but can I just comment on her haircut??? I LOVE it. It looks so nice and easy to take care of!!!!

Thanks about the haircut, and that's waht it looks like after gymnastics. I don't think she has ever had long hair. I cut all the time, of course she wants me to cut it. It really is easy to take care of, wet it a blow dry it, readyin 5 min. She sees me color other people's hair and says she needs her hair painted too. :rotfl: Also, she tells everyone that when she's a mom then she can cut hair. :rotfl2: Can you tell I don't want her to cut her own hair, that's my biggest fear.

Thanks:thumbsup2 I am still nervous about it but am going to get my machine this weekend. What did you start with that eased you into sewing? I want to jump in but don't want to drown.
\
I started with patterns from www.youcanmakethis.com They are much easier to understand than other patterns. I had done a little sewing before, but nothing fancy. I started with carlac's simply sweet jumper and easy fit pants. I love how detailed her directions are and how she gives lots of pictures of what to do. Commercial patterns are harder for me b/c they assume you know certian things.

Here is one dress that got done. DD2 is wearing it, so messy face and chasing her to get pictures was alot of fun. :hyper: :hyper: DD4 was at gymnastics but has the same dress.

I was trying to get a pic. of the back and she tried a head stand instead.

Here is the back of the dress
P1000856.jpg

Had to tell her to hit the door, boy does she wear me out! :rotfl:
P1000858.jpg

This is soooo cute!!! Is that a daisy kingdom pattern? If so was the skirt already that full or did you add more fabric than it called for? I am working up the courage to try a daisy kingdom like this. My little one is 4 so Iguess I sholud be asking about your older daughter's dress. Did you add fabric to that one?

Ok, now no more pictures. I do have a frog outfit, but it's dirty right now. I'll have to post that later. I need to develop some pictures, went to the lake this weekend, I took WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY to many pictures! Good news, it wore my girls out all weekend!:yay:  :yay:  They never slept so good!:cool1:

Yes it is a Daisy Kingdom. DD2's dress is just like the pattern, DD4's dress Did the skirt on the ruffler and it turned out alot fuller. Love them both though. DD4's does have more twirl factor. Did the ruffler because the serger, ruffles and sews at the same time!

Hi Everyone,

Here is Abby in the watermelon outfit I made her. I used some peoples suggestion about 1 button on the shoulder, and found watermelon buttons to use there!!
abbymelon.jpg

abbymelon2.jpg

I used the 4/5 size for her - do you think i should have bumped her up a size for the round neck part? does it not cover the shoulders enough???? thoughts??? thanks!!

wendy

Oh that's sounds like heaven. I got sick of the meltdowns that went along with this hair
beforehaircut.jpg

SOOOO, I cut it all off!!! But you can see from my recent posts, it's already passed her shoulders again!!! I can't wait to get back from BBB so I can cut it again! Mornings were so enjoyable when it was this length.

Love that hair cut, it fits her face so perfect. I'm a sucker for short hair. I had DD4's hari done at BBB, and when we got back cut it off. Her face just fits a short hair cut. I still can put bows in it if I need too.

Yes, it does fit her face...poor child inherited my round face! Incidently, I cut my hair into the same style every fall and then stop cutting it around May so that I can pull it back for Disney (otherwise my straight hair suddently resembles a poodle in Florida humidity)

OK, so I have really just been briefly checking in the past few weeks because things have been so busy, but I just uploaded all my pics, so I will give you the run down of what we have been up to:)

I made a few cakes... Here are a couple.
sdcardcleanup493.jpg

sdcardcleanup518.jpg

What do you think this is supposed to be?

I am too cheap to spend $15 on the double layer stripwork form YCMT, so I tried to figure it out myself. lol...
sdcardcleanup515.jpg

And we celebrated Julia's Halfy Birthday. (you read that right, we are sooo cheesy that we celebrate the 6 month bday)
sdcardcleanup500.jpg

yeah... yeah... the cake decorator got lazy...
sdcardcleanup504.jpg

sdcardcleanup507.jpg

This was the first real food Julia ate. When I fed her cereal a few days later she was disgusted. I think she thought it would all taste that good:rotfl:

And clean up...
sdcardcleanup513.jpg

I also made something for Rob for father's day I want to share, but those pics need to get loaded still.

I love the Wall E dresses!
I love the Minnie peasant! Great job for a first dress!
The latest big give outfit is fantastic!
And Heather, it looks like Sawyers BDay was a blast! Great cake BTW!

I did it! I sewed something other than pajama pants! I MADE A DRESS!!! :

Oh this is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! I love it!!! Your little one sure is a cutie too!!!

We did do our first family theme night as we prepare for our next trip! We did Peter PAn night and had pirate ship pizzas, fruit on a sword, made pirate hats, went on a treasure hunt and watched Peter Pan! Next week it will be Snow WHite night!
Oh that sounds like a blast. I should try doing something like that!!! I have to ask....what do pirate ship pizzas look like???

Here is another pic that I love...I was a little lazy for this day...just made shorts...but I love the orange shirts!

Here's Sawyer's cake. I didn't get too imaginative with it this year.
6-22-08buzzcake.jpg

Here he is blowing out his candle. Actually, he was just blowing, he never did quite get it blown out, Armind had to help him along. I see in this picture he was already sampling the cake...no wonder no one seemed too anxious to eat it! :rotfl2:

Here's the only picture I got of them together in their matching outfits. :sad2:

Awww those outfits turned out so cute Heather. You did a great job. The kids are adorable!

Here is what I made yesterday and today. It is for my friend's daughter. I am not feeling the love for it but I had a hard time finding a third fabric I liked so I did the patchwork tier. Oh well, I hope she doesn't hate it anyway. She is my best customer :rotfl: I think I'll throw in a free headband or something.

What a little sweetie!!! How cute!!!!!!

Here is DD4 in her dress, she wasn't happy that I took pictures of her sister and not her.
Cheesy Smile!

I think that looks great Wendy!!!

Hi all! I had a long, busy weekend so I haven't had a chance to catch up with you all. But, I wanted to post pictures of Tessa's Buzz Lightyear dress that I made her to match Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. His birthday party was yesterday and it was a Toy Story theme. Here's some pictures:

Tessa picked out the green fabric, she's been bugging me to make her something green. This is Simplicity 2909.

I am salivating over those cakes -- I love me some cake!!! That cake is a pillow right? They are all great!

kstgelais4- is it a pillow?

SAHM1000- feel free to ask any farm/ranch questions you have; I'm a city girl now but I grew up on a farm/ranch, and you can't be any worse than by brother's first wife. She went crazy the first time she saw hay come out of a hay baler in a bale- she thought it grew that way!

Hi all!!! We have been back for a week yet life got busy and I have not gotten a chance to post!

Erin got a lot of attention over her outfits! I need to post pics later, but the characters ate it up. The biggest reaction was from June over her LE dress. She just kept pointing to the dress and then to her and putting her hands over her heart to say she loved it. She even signed Erin's autograph book as "June, LOVE your dress!" :lovestruc Minnie made a big deal about it too. We even had a member of the Dream Team stop us and ask about her outfit! Darn it, no dreams, but it was nice to have that little talk with her.

I promise to be back with photos!

Here is the top that I asked the question about a page or two back.

ladybugoutfittop.jpg

The gathers are not what I thought they would be but it is a sweet top.

Here is the close-up of my ladybug applique.

ladybugoutfit1.jpg

I was contemplating put another ladybug on the "peek" of the skirt but since the applique on the bodice doesn't show on the inside (the top is lined and I did the ladybug before attaching the two pieces) I'm afraid it will look weird with just one showing on the inside of the garment.

I plan on making shorts to go with this top and possibly putting a ladybug on one of the legs of the shorts.
