Hi ladies, just dropping by :) I just started working full-time again this past week so I haven't had a lot of time to read and just skimmed through now.. Awesome creations as always, this thread is always so inspiring for me :cloud9: Today i've been cutting out 4 YCMT handbag patterns since my fusible fleece arrived recently, hoping to get them all sewn up tomorrow!
Ooh also: This week I booked our vacation!! I'm soo excited to visit California    We're staying in several different places (flying in to San Francisco and out of Las Vegas) including Anaheim for 4 nights at the Fairfield Inn, anyone stayed there? It seems like a good location to walk to DL, ahh I can't wait! :yay:

We usually stay there and have always been happy. It is fairly clean and the walk is great, McDonalds is in the parking lot, Mimi's is across the parking lot. I can be a little picky about hotels and we have never had a problem here. Some may say no free continental breakfast is a down side, but they have a little snack bar with (expensive) cereal, muffins, yogurt, juice etc. for sale if you need to grab something there. The pool is fine, nothing fancy but nicer than some I've seen. We love watching the fireworks from the balcony. Some rooms are really big, some are just maybe a little bigger than average. I have no idea how we sometimes get a huge room and sometimes not so much, since we request the same thing.

So many lovely, lovely creations worn by darling children posted lately!

I have a question about embroidery machines:

I'm confused...About a year ago an acquaintance did a few pieces for me on her machine. The faces and everything are all filled in with thread, not fabric. They're cute, but they aren't "applique." How does one use an embroidery machine to do applique where the machine stitches the outline and other details only and doesn't fill in the entire space with thread? Do all of the machines have this capability or only certain models? Are those designs what people are referring to when they say they purchased a design from an ebay seller? I assume there are sellers who know how to digitize and they digitize the outline and details only? If so, how does one place the fabric accurately so that the stitching covers the edges perfectly like it would if you were doing hand applique?

If you have an embroidery machine, you can either digitize or buy a design that is for applique. I love the look of applique, so I do that more often than I do filled embroidery designs. If you buy the designs, just look for applique in the descriptions of the designs.

Here is a filled design that I did for my granddaughter last year

This is an appliqued one I did for her last month.

I'm finally caught up!!

Seriously amazing creations ladies!!! Wowza! I had to kinda skim the last 10 pages to catch up since I missed a day...this thread is quite a commitment to keep up with....:rotfl2: Did we get married or something??? :confused3 :rotfl:

Well, aren't you wondering why I had to catch up? Well I'll tell you anyways... ;) my girlfriend and I took the kids to Sesame Place in PA and had a blast. We had perfect weather and the girls got lots of compliments on their matching outfits. I must say they were easier to keep track of cause they matched! We did the dry rides in the AM, had lunch (picnic we brought), then went on the wet attractions, then changed and did a few more dry rides. By the end of the day 3 pm, they were TIRED OUT!!! We did manage a character picture at the end.:thumbsup2

Here are a few pics and if you want to see them all, a link to the slideshow! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing these picures! And I'm happy to hear another positive report on Sesame Place. I still think I'll take Megan there when she's a little older.

Thanks for the positive reviews, much appreciated :) It seems to get good ones on Tripadvisor and the price was right, as long as it's clean and secure then we're good :goodvibes

On a different topic: Does anyone know where I could get this fabric from? I'd prefer cotton but would go for flannel too.

There isn't any on eBay and Hancocks' website doesn't ship internationally..

This print is available at Joann's.

Just wanted to pop in and tell everyone I love the new outfits that have been posted. Great work everyone!!

This first one was a practice. I pieced together a commercial pattern and followed another from TJ's bookmarks to put the pocket and hood on.

Here's the one for our cruise...

Those are really cute. Really love the cruise one!

Unfortunately Riley is still not doing well. She and I did get to go to NYC for a week to see my niece who just moved there. The timing ended up being "perfect" because the day before we left she was in the Urgent care form about 5 am to 1 and then went home and vomitted (from the pain meds they gave her) till about 9 p.m. We risked it and went anyway the next morning bright and early and with only 1 day of not feeling great ended up having a great time!

We are going in for some more testing on Monday and then we have decided to look into a new doc. We are going to have to travel though because we have seen every urologist in the KC area. We are actually thinking Mayo clinic at this point. We are getting pretty desperate. Her surgeon actually told me a couple of weeks ago that it might be in our heads and maybe when the antibiotics work it's just a placebo effect. I guess I have a very talented you lady on my hands! Apparently she FAKED a positive kidney infection the week before last!!!!:furious:
I cannot image how frustrating this must be for you. How wonderful that Riley was able to enjoy NYC! Your pictures were great!

I was in China meeting Morgan. I will never forget seeing that little face for the first time. :lovestruc

So cute! Love the round neck outfit and your DD is too adorable!

Here is the Wall E dress I made yesterday for my Wall E obsessed niece. She just woke up from a nap and wasn't in a picture posing mood :rotfl:

Love that!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent a good hour or so this morning commenting on everything from the last 10 pages. Then, I went outside to plant some flowers. I came back in to see if there was anything new posted and I don't see the huge multi-quote that I posted this morning on here. HOW did that happen? I know I clicked "submit". I wonder if it had too many pictures and I didn't notice. Then, Henry got on the computer and shut my window (I'm ALWAYS telling him not to shut my windows), and erased my multi-quote. I'm sure you all wanted to hear about this, but it's so frustrating when that happens!

Anyway, I need to get off the computer again because I have to get ready for Sawyer's birthday party tomorrow. Rest assured that if you posted something, I commented on it!
I finally got my DH to not shut down windows. Have a great party!!!!

Congrats on the job and vacation!!!! Can't wait to see pictures of your bags!

I made my youngest a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse storybook skirt today. I've come to the conclusion that I don't really enjoy gathering. Maybe I should try a ruffler. I think is OK. I'll probably like it more tomorrow. I always need a break from a piece before I can actually like it. I want to make her a simply sweet top with extra book panels to wear with it.

I did this with the Pooh story book and I just wanted to warn you that if you are making a top smaller than a 5 you may have to cut away some of the panel. I extended the length on a size 5 about an inch so I could get everything on otherwise I would have lost at least the border. Also be aware that you will probably have to add some fabric to the sides unless you want to run onto the next panel. You have probably already thought of all this, but it took me a while to work out exactly how i was going to make it work.

Hi, would y'all mind sharing where you found the cloth Disney books? Thanks! I've been searching :wizard: and doing tons of internet searches but come up empty.

I think most people buy their cloth books at JoAnn's. I have bought a couple of them at Hobby Lobby but I think mine are different. I buy mine by the yard -- one yard will make one book.

Here's two more things that I completed yesterday and today.

For Michael:

I wish I had a better pic of this b/c I really liked how it turned out. The only thing that I don't like about it is that his shirt is too long for my taste. I'm going to cut it off and re-hem it.

This set is for one of Parker's friends. Her b'day was last week but we were out of town for her party. We will be seeing her tomorrow, I just hope it fits.

Thanks! I'll have to check Hobby Lobby because we don't have a JoAnn's locally. I'm going to check online right now!!!

Adorable!!!!!

Now are you really talking to Cayla, or are you talking to yourself? You know you want to...and Disney Store just marked everything down...
I MUST resist!!!! That's just TOO far to drive!

I usually see them at Walmart, they are packaged up in the craft section. They also sometimes sell them on the bolt.

Amy, Michael is looking much too old lately! The outfit turned out really cute!

And, I love the Minnie skirt and shirt! Parker's little friend is going to be so happy!

I know, he's growing up too fast. He's all snaggle-toothed right now. Within the last few months, I think he has lost about 3 or 4 teeth and has another one that is just about to fall out.

Those are so cute. I love that pirate outfit. Where did you get the fabric from? Not that I need more fabric.
