Hi everyone! I don't usually post on here because I can't sew but I'm on here everyday looking at what everyone has made. I love all your outfits but a suggestion, more EEYORE! My ddil (disneylovinfamily) sews so I look out for stuff for her and call her. I had surgery on Monday and am now trying to catch up. My dd brought her laptop to me in bed so I could read. I LOVE my grandson's new do, can't wait to see it in person. Keep up the good work everyone and God bless all of you on the give project.

I have a classic Pooh outfit in the works that will probably have Eeyore on it 'cause he's dd2's favorite Pooh character (she sleeps with him), but when I'll actually get around to doing it :confused3 . I have sooooo many outfits I want to do AND I'm trying to do some catching up on my scrapbooing this summer. We'll see how that goes.

I am so excited I got the outfits in the mail today that I ordered from :wizard: ! I love them. :)

The first set I like but I love the second! I noticed when DD tied her up she tied up a little tight so that may make a difference.
The second set and why I originally bought from her lol.

Ok, Bugs is cute, but this is gorgeous!!! I love that giraffe. Seriously, this outfit makes me wish we hadn't decided against going to the zoo on vacation this year.

just sending you some  and will pray for Jenna, when my youngest son was in pre-k he had trouble adjusting and will not participate in class , I kept telling the teacher that I thought he had some speech problems finally the school had him evaluated and He did have a speech problem (he also have a malformation in his mouth that needs a special metal piece, kind of braces from the dentist) he started therapy and I immediately saw a transformation in him, he is in the honor roll and reading at 6th grade level, and I am so proud of him:lovestruc I wish that parents/school will know that sometimes learning/behavior problems have medical roots and early identification/intervention is all you need to help your child do better

I'm not sure what tink fabric you're talking about but since you want to reattach the bottom of it i assume there is a border there. You could cut it off then cut off another strip from the bottom and reattach it at the bottom again. JMO.

...t.

I have the Ariel fabric like the tink you are talking about. I plan on cutting it off from the bottom and just re hemming it for my 11 month old. It will fit my 5yr old. the extra fabric I will use for straps as I have not found any ribbon to match the fabric yet.

I would cut it at the bottom and reattach it. I think it would work out better that way. course I cannot sew for snot so you might not want to listen to me. But in theory that seems like the better choice. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone! I'll try it that way (next week most likely) and let you know how it turns out!

Hi Everyone,

All the new creations continue to be AWESOME!!!!! Great job - just wonderful stuff coming out these days!!!

THanks to all who sent hugs my way - I really appreciated each one of them. I just love this group for sure, it feels like a family!!!!

My next projects are for my friends kids Abby(she wants the same birthday outfit as elizabeth and hannah with a bitty baby outfit to match) and Tim (who is the jurassic park dino boy) and my big give project.

Did I tell you guys about Camp Promise? For the past 4 years, my DH and I and Matt and Rebekah and a group from our church goes to a camp for kids/adults with special needs out in Bigfork, MT. Its called Camp Promise and is SO awesome!!! We love it so much! Its an overnight camp for the kids and we have a GREAT time - so that is coming the first 2 weeks in july - so I have to make tshirts for our team of 14 - and I was thinking of blue/green tye dye with the logo in the middle - thoughts???????

Here is DH lifeguarding with a camper near by - look like fun???

And here is the first week crew of campers which is younger than the 2nd week...

Wendy

I agree Im really loving all the summer stuff- and I love that ice cream cone fabric...i think I need some!
I havent done any sewing since Saturday, think Ill try and finish the nepali robe tomorrow.
Wendy, I just wanted to say this is soooo awesome that you and your husband participate in this camp!!! I was really touched by this!

To All- can you please pray for 2 couples my aunt knows- one couple gave birth to a little girl who only lived 2hrs before passing and then the other couple (2 brothers I believe) lost their 2 and half month old little boy (to SIDS I believe) if you'd like to read their story you can visit www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com

megan is having issues with all highway driving- she gets car sick. Please pray that this resolves itself. Her Pediatrician says theres nothing I can do about it. Im hoping it will be a short phase!

Her teachers were suggesting holding her back because they said that they thought she was immature. She talks in class whenever she has to do close up work. (One of the symptoms of Convergence Insuffenciency) She has all A's so there is no way in the world that I would ever consider allowing them to hold her back. Well I am very happy to find a cause and a solution to the issue. I'll just let her teacher know what is going on when she goes back to school.

I finally got Halie over to try her shirt on.

I found this style of shirt on e-bay. I didn't have a pattern so I just kinda made it up as I went. I'm going to make a Disney one, but I wanted to practice first since I didn't have a pattern. The fabric is American Flags and stars. It was cheap fabric so it wouldn't matter if I messed it up. I thought it would be good for the 4th of July, but now I'm thinking it could be cute for Epcot WS as well. After she tried it on it was too revealing in the back. Here's what it looked like at first...

I haven't fixed the back yet, but here's what it will look like. I'm going to add elastic to the fabric strip. I like it much better now. This shirt was soooo easy to make!!!

Cute tops. I love the pirate face.

Okay, so you may remember me...I posted a couple of times about my DMIL and DMom making some things for the girls for our Oct. trip. As soon as they actually sew them I will post photos. Well, I am borrowing my friend's sewing machine later this week to try and see if it is worth me buying one (if I can even make anything).

I went to look at fabric today and scored some good stuff. I have my eye on CarlaC's patterns if my first projects go well. So, on to my question (congrats if you made it this far).

For those of you who made the dresses from the pre-shirred fabric, specifically the Tink one...how would you go about shortening it? It will fit my 5 year old, but I want to make one for the baby to match. Would you cut the Tink portion off the bottom in a strip and add it back on higher like an applique or would you cut it below the shirred part and reattach it there? :confused3 Hopefully this makes sense and someone can help me.

TIA!

Make sure you wash and dry the pre-shirred fabric. I washed all of mine the other day and is shrunk in dress length quite a bit. You sure don't want to cut it and then have it shrink and it be too short.

robnkris, I love that top you created. I am so jealous of you ladies who can make stuff with no pattern!

Good morning! Ok Here I go I am going to post my 1st picture of my smi home made dress I did for my little princess: I hope I can get the pictures to show up!

Please ignore the extra pink ribbon sticking out and the little ruffle sticking out of the bottom she didn't want to take her pj's off since she just got out of the bath.

close up of the ribbon I added to the bottom which matches the tie ribbon at the shoulders.

Her being the princess she is!

I hope it is ok to post this because like I said it is semi home made. the gathering at the top was done for me but I wanted to start out slow to start. So if I really messed this up I new to pack in the thought of trying to really making a dress for her. I am pretty proud of myself! I know it is nothing compared to what you ladies make but since it was my 1st attempted I am pretty happy!

I am hoping to be able to cut the pieces for my 1st fully home made dress today!

Great job on your first dress!!
I love the pre-made shirred fabric. I have made at least 7 sundresses for my DD. They are great to build confidence!!

Good luck on your very first "complete" dress- can't wait to see it!!

I finished this last night for Jenna's little friend.
S2010248.jpg

It's a summer version of Drizella's dress.
I love that!! What a lucky girl!!

I love the peter pan idea. Ideas on how to make it. I guess I need to watch the movie, I'm trying to picture it.
Also, I was thinking Tink, but I want it as a tutu. What should I put as the top? The tutu is easy.

What about a leotard- get a white one and dye it green. Or maybe green satiny type material. My dd went as tink last yr. for MNSSHP she was about 15 mo.
47b7cf26b3127ccec2dbc58dbdb300000016101AZsXLhszbMQe3nwU

I'll have to look up the pattern number if you are interested. There are other tink costume patterns also.

robnkris, I love that top you created. I am so jealous of you ladies who can make stuff with no pattern!

Thanks! It was really easy! I had sewn an apron for my best friend's bridal shower gift using a pattern, and this was basically an short apron with a ruffle at the bottom. So I knew the basics of how to make it.

Ok I am off to sew some baby things for my cousin's little girl that is due in about a month from now. The shower is Saturday. I have gone back and forth on whether or not I was going to make her something. My grandmother and sister talked me into making her something. So I have a couple of dresses planned with matching diaper covers, a swaddler blanket, and a sleeper. If she doesn't like it than it will definitely seal my dislike for this girl. She is very stuck up and I seriously don't think she will want something handmade. I will be surprised to see other.

Some of you may remember that while Jenna was in school this past year she kept getting notes sent home from teacher. Well today she had an appointment with her eye doctor and he has diagnosed her with eye convergence problems. This means that her eyes don't align right. He said that children with this problem sometimes can't concentrate on their work and will actually stop doing the work because they can't get their eyes to work right. That explains Jenna perfectly. So next month she is going to go back for more tests and he said that they want to start her in some therapy that he said will correct the problem. So hopefully next year will be better for her. It's nice to know that she won't have to be medicated.

I'm sure it was a frustrating year for you and I'm glad you got an answer that will help with next year.

I finally got Halie over to try her shirt on.

The Fourth of July shirt is really cute too, I have the same fabrics, plus one more for the YCMT criss-cross dresses I'm making for my girls now. You have great taste!

My DD wants me to make her a Hoodie now. I think I want to make it a little more feminine with a ruffle where the sleeve would be.
Super Cute!! Good to see other things for boys- 2cutekidz did hoodies for her boy too!! Cute pattern!!

MrsMiller- That was a great tutorial- Thanks for sharing. Cute shorts too!

Billwendy- That looks like a beautiful camp!! Tie Dye shirts are really fun!! Were planning to do an iron on logo- Other wise you could trace on the logo and baste stitch like when your making the mickey head ones- we did that for a pirate shirt for dh and it turned out really cool. I 'll post a pic for you.
I'm not sure what mickey disco dot is?? Explain more please....

SallyfromDE- the stroller costumes are super cute that is a great idea for a baby!!

Clairemolly- I haven't done this but am planning to- Cut under the shirred part and move it up when there is a border on the bottom. or what t-beri said that sounds good too- LOL

Tinka_belle- So good to hear it can be helped with therapy and she won't need surgery!! I have a cousin like that- I was going to make hooded towels but decided not too- Didn't think she would appreciate it. :snooty:

Eyore4Ever149- Done & Done!! I got distracted from my catching up- Ended up reading a bunch of that- thanks for sharing!!
Poor megan- hope that passes quickly!!

robinkris- your niece looks cute in both her shirts!!

Wow, they are both incredible! I would have adored wearing that second one when I was a kid, it's so fluffy and pretty.

This is him during, check out the second mad face, he always turns his head, closes his eyes and says "NO!":

Just wanted to let you all know they found a body believed to be my brothers friend. Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers. I hope now his family & friends can start to grieve their loss.

The first one is current and the second one is a discontinued pattern. But I've seen it on :wizard: . Aren't they cute? Oh, BTW, did anyone see that the Disney patterns have been discontinued?
OK the pea in the pod costume just made me go AWW out loud, how cute is that?! :cutie:

Ugh, some people are so ungrateful when it comes to handmade gifts :( I've found that it tends to be the people are crafty themselves who appreciate them the most. I'm sure whatever you make will be adorable :cloud9:

OK since i've been slacking on taking pictures of my recent creations I thought i'd share some of my recent fabric purchases in the meantime ;)
