Hi,

I am helping out a friends daughter & husband (and two kids) with their first Disney World trip.

They are newbies, and I am concerned for them because I think they are planning to walk into the world, and have a great time, without knowing a single thing beforehand. They arrive on 3/16/07, and don't even know what an ADR is yet (I am trying to help though!)

What is a MYW PH package? What does PH mean?

They said they get three meals per day, so I am helping them with what the dining plan is, as I think that is what they have.
Thanks Dis
mary

PH = Park Hopper.

The term "Park Hopper" means a MYW ticket with an upgrade that allows owners of that ticket to visit more than one Disney Theme-park in any one day.

PH should just be Park Hopper - the type of park ticket involved.

If they're getting 3 meals a day, then they've gotten themselves into the Platinum or Premium plan and have a lot beyond just food. If they have a TS, a CS, and a snack, they have the Dining Plan.

The Magic Your Way Park Hopper Package will allow them to hop from park to park in a single day as they wish.

The Dining Plan allows one Table Service, one Counter Service and one Snack per person, per night of stay, NOT length of ticket.

The premium dining plan allows at least two Table Service meals per day, but my wallet & waistline protested too much to even consider what that one entails.

Do your friends a huge favor, send them to the DIS & point out some of the particular veteran members w/ reliable, knowledgable information that won't overwhelm them. (Robo & Dan Murphy come to mind immediately, but tell them to sign up & post questions & I guarantee nice people will come to their assistance.) :)

Give me just a minute, and I'll find Dan Murphy's home phone number for you...

;) :rotfl

You guys are great, thanks.

(These folks are very well off financially), so I probably better check with my friend - as they just might have a "fancy-dancy" package, and I don't want to give them the wrong info on their dining plan. I am not sure how or if I will find out what their true dining plan is, since it appears they don't even know.

They still better hurry with ADR's!, right?!

You know I have sent them to Dis! And allearsnet too! Their mom (my friend), ordered them a passporter and we mailed her the new planning dvd. They should be receiving both today.

We'll see if the lightbulb goes off. You guys know how it makes us Dis'ers feel when people come home home from the World and say they didn't have a good time, when we know its because they had no plan/clue.

My friend said, "they booked their whole package directly with the Polynesian resort" - They wanted AKL but it was booked.

Well, if they're at the Poly, no worries.

And if they do have some worries kicking around. I am available to be flown down & offer my personal services as guide. (Ditching your family is allowed when Disney calls, right? :cool2: )

Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Astor, I'm your personal concierge.

If you need anything at all, just dial my cell.
I'll be on the Poly beach or in the parks doing, er, RESEARCH!

Ha! Sorry we already tried!! I made the offer to go and tour them around, AND watch their kids while they go out! But - my friend said that SHE is trying to get invited, she the Mom, and they haven't invited her yet!

but ya know what is cool? My friend ordered her daughter a passporter because SHE didn't want to mail to her friend, because she is reading it cover to cover and checking out websites. My friend is going to Disney World even if she goes by herself! I thought that was cool.
