Package price adjustment?

Hello all,

When I booked our package for our upcoming trip back in December (prior to knowing it is always smarter to book hotel and tickets separate!) I put the entire cost on my Disney Visa and have made payments on that. Today out of curiousity, I checked the price for the same room and dates, and the package price is $380 cheaper. Will I be able to call and get my package adjusted, or am I out of luck since it was booked as a pacakage, not hotel only? Thanks for your help!

When you book through Disney, you can adjust it to better offers.

I would call, you may be able to save $380 bucks. It never hurts to ask.

call. I have had good luck renegotiating with Disney.

I know it's possible on both, but someone just wrote they were told there are certain catches to changing packages. I'll list what they wrote for you...

"I called recently, inquiring about a package, and was told by the CM that they would modify to a lower price if a better deal came out later. The only catch was:

1. The new promotion price would be reflective of the current prices. So if you booked way in advance and the ticket prices changed in the meantime, your discount may be a few dollars less.

2. You can apply the discount only if the type of accomadation you are requesting is still available. For instance, last year we booked a Standard room, a better deal came out, but no standard rooms were left on the days we wanted to go, so we upgraded to concierge, which was available, and ended up actually paying almost the same as the standard room (but with an upgraded accomodation).

3. You can modify your reservation to reflect the promotion up to 30 days before travel without penalty. Within 30 days there are some tiered penalties for changes ($50 - $100) but I don't recall the time frames for each. However, if you can save $300, a $50 change fee is still worth it.

I was told the above applies whether booking through WDTC, Costco or AAA. There may be others, but I only asked about those three.

Now I realize we sometimes get conflicting information when talking to DLR reservations, and misundertandings can happen easily, so I would make sure to confirm this with a CM personally and ask specific questions to your particular trip."

I have only done it with room only, but I don't think you'll have a problem with packages.

Thanks for the tips everyone!

I gave them a call and was able to upgrade our reservation to a upper level resort/pool view room, and with the $50 fee for changing the reservation, it didn't cost me any extra, plus they're giving me $25 in dining vouchers! It works for us and I'm happy! We're celebrating our daughters birthday while we're there, so the upgrade on the room from standard view (at DLH) will be an extra treat :cool1:

That's great!! Glad they were able to work it out for you! The upgrade will be a fun extra for the birthday celebration!! :yay:
