Package or room only? Need advice from DIS experts!

For my first trip to WDW with my 6 year DD this past April, I booked the Dream Maker package. It was easy, and I never travel, so I knew little about planning a trip like that. Now, I want to try to go back next April 2005. Is a package the way to go for the two of us, or should I try to book everything separately? I'm also thinking of using Small World Travel which I learned about on Mousesavers.
Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated!

It's too soon to tell if a package or room only will be the best bet, it all depends on what they offer for that timeframe.

The great thing about Small World Vacations is they will keep on working to get you the best rate even after you have booked with them.

For our August trip, we priced things out several ways. We knew the rack rate price and reserved a room hoping for an AP or general public code. When the AP rates were released, we compared the price of our reservation with the AP rate, plus the cost of the AP and tickets for the rest of family. We then compared this with the 7/5 package that is offered for our travel dates. For us, it is cheaper to purchase an AP and park hopper tickets seperatly, than it is to do the package.

I would suggest comparing prices as the time gets closer. You can always reserve your room now, and change later if you get a better deal. Good luck and happy planning!

Since packages are based on double adult occupancy, it might be better to use a room only rate and buy park passes seperately, so you aren't paying for your child as an adult. -HM
