Pac Man Cafe on I Drive

A recent article in the Orlando Sentinel showed sketches of the renovation work planned for Pointe Orlando. I believe that work is about to get underway, if it hasn't already happened. Three new restaurants are planned, and they are making the whole place more accessible to pedestrians walking up and down I-Drive.

I always thought that was one of Pointe Orlando's downfalls. If you didn't know what was there, you certainly couldn't see it from the street.

Hopefully, this renovation will improve the place.

And the other downfall was charging for parking in the parking garage. There were no free parking spots.

Pac Man Cafe validated parking, though. And I believe Dan Marino's did, too.

All of the restaurants validated parking...so did the movie theatre. But I agree, the parking garage fee didn't help bring in customers. No one wants to pay to park...and unless you pull into the garage, you wouldn't know about the validation policy.

Turning that garage into free parking, and sticking a big sign that says "Free Parking" will go a long way in helping Pointe Orlando recover.
