I second the vote for Cave of the Winds and walking across the Rainbow Bridge. For kids, it's kind of cool to take a pic of half the body in US and half in Canada - there's a sign on the bridge that shows the US/CA border. You can usually see some nice rainbows from the bridge. If staying on the CA side, bring some change to cross back in - there's a small fee to walk across the bridge. You pay on the CA side.
If going up to Niagara on the Lake (Wine country - quaint town, cute shops, etc.), I would recommend the Jet Boat tour (especially if it is a hot day). You will get wet. It's a lot of fun. http://www.whirlpooljet.com/page/3_unique_locations
One other thing to do in Toronto is see the Wizard of Oz. I saw it and it was so good. Now they're advertising tickets for $35 and rush tickets because its been out a fe months and its leaving soon. http://www.mirvish.com/shows/thewizardofoz
I didn't catch when you're coming. Wizard of Oz is being replaced by Aladdin in November...I can't wait. It will be in T.O. Only 2 months and then it's going to Broadway.
