P90x

After the main part I had enough. Baby steps are ok in my world.

something to consider..... do the ab routine first, then the main workout (if you have the time).... that way, you can hit the abs when you're fresh, and it doubles as a good warm up to get you ready for the main workout

I started p90x this week. On day 3. I'm doing the lean version so I can incorporate my marathon training. On days 2, 4, and 6 I"m going to do my running instead of kenpo and cardio x, although I hope to be able to include Plyo at some point. Right now my upper back is really sore! I did back and bicep on Monday.

Today I am on day 11. I have been using 5-6 pound weights, I have found that I can keep pace with the videos but I can't do as many reps on some of the exercises. My arms are pretty weak. I can do most of them, some I am not quite there yet but I am giving it my all.

My husband said last night that he can notice a difference in my shoulders but so far I can't see anything.

I lost 60 pounds last year and am hoping that the P90X finishes off the rest. We go to WDW in May and I have always been embarassed to be in any of the pictures because I was overweight. I should be done with the P90X April 25th.

Question for those who have done this before, has anyone done the Double P90X? I noticed on the 2nd and 3rd phase that you do cardio in the morning 3 days a week and then the regular workouts in the evening. How exahusting is that?

Today is day 4 for me. I am waiting to do some other Tony Horton Yoga with my DH tonight because DH tells me the P90X Yoga is too tough for me right now and I'm going to trust him. At the moment my thighs are killing me, the Plyo pain kicked in yesterday when the Aleve wore off :rotfl: but nothing else hurts. I know it's chicken of me but I am going to wait to jump in with the Abs on my day off because I can only take one body part aching at a time and still smile:thumbsup2 I just like to smile, smiling is my favorite.:thumbsup2

Starting with the ABS is an excellent idea though, I will do it this way when I work my way up to include them in a few days.

Good luck everyone!

Can someone Please tell me the Best/Cheapest place online to purchase this? Also, What else do I need to buy in order to do the workouts?

I like this idea! I might change it up some days and start with the abs too!

I did not do the double P90X. I just do not have enough time in my day to do that. I have done the P90X Plus workouts. I actually LOVE the Kenpo Plus! It is a bit shorter than regular Kenpo, but it gets my heart rate up more.

Congratulations! Keep it up! Yoga is the longest day, too.

I am sorry that I cannot help with this question. We called the phone number on the web site. I am sure that you can find the set on eBay, though. If you do that, I recommend that you get a set that comes with the book/guide. It helps to read throught that first. It explains everything and gives you a chart to keep track of your progress.

I'd recommend doing the yoga-x anyway.... it's definitely a tough workout, but (as with all of them) you can modify it to fit your level/how you're feeling that day.... if you haven't done it before, it's 90 minutes long; the first 45 minutes are various yoga poses (crescent, warrior 1/2/3, etc), moving from one to the other using upward/downward dog moves as transitions... in this part, just modify it and don't do the up/down dog moves, and just try to hold the poses as they get into them....

after the first 45 minutes, they get into some balance moves and stretching, which is a lot easier and can help reduce soreness/etc..... there's a brief ab section (with about 18 minutes to go.... 7 moves).... then a little more stretching/relaxing to wrap it up....

first time I tried it, I think I only made it through about 20 minutes (didn't know what to expect and didn't really embrace the 'modify' concept then).... but each time through, it gets a little easier, since you've seen/done the moves and know what to expect.

I had to jump in and say that I love this balance and stretch section of the yoga video. As a matter of fact, I love the P90X stretch workout video. It is one of my favorites. :thumbsup2 It just feels great to stretch out like that.

Do you get bored with it? I go to the gym- different people to watch, stuff to read, tv, my Ipod for when I strength train.

So excited to see read all of your responses!

I decided to take the plunge (DH too!), and we are on Day 3. We are doing the lean version, only b/c a friend had the videos and burned them for me. Not sure what the difference is, but since my goal is to lose weight it sounds like the lean version should be perfect for me!

There are a few exercises I can't do yet (like Drea Rolls! OMG!! LOL!!!), but I figure as long as I keep moving at least I'm doing something!

My triceps and hamstrings are sore and the rest of me feels like jello, so I think it's working!!! Ha ha!!

Hey out there! I'm still doing it and am now on day 10. Last week I was doing 10 of everything and no abs. So far this week I'm doing 12-15 of everything and the abs which are really hard. BUT I already am feeling better. One of my knees has been deteriorating which was making me lean to the right when I go down stairs and now I am walking straight. I don't know if its too early to be stronger so maybe it's just the stretching but something is working. Also, I have to say that everything is already getting easier. Not easy mind you, just easier and more manageable. For m the only thing that hurts is my left Achilles tendon. I have fallen arches and my feet simply can't stabilize me for those Plyo criss cross hops. So there will be no more of those for me, I will just jump on both feet instead or maybe do some more of those Heisman.

:cheer2:YAY to everyone else out there taking the plunge with me:cheer2:

PS_ I am not updating my weight because I'm not looking too often. It's just too easy for me to get demoralized that way Maybe I'll look Monday at the 2 week mark.

Hi!

Day 18 today! It is getting easier, the Yoga still kills me though. I really enjoy it, I can keep up with most of it. :)

I have only lost about 3 pounds so that is a little discouraging since I do it everyday, but I can fit into jeans that didnt fit before so I think it may be starting to shape things a little.

Today completed the first month! I made it!!!!:cool1:

I have 3 months until we go on vacation, so I have decided to take the plunge and do the double P90X so i start that tomorrow. AM Cardio 3 days a week and the regular routine after I get out of work. I am hoping I can do it, wish me luck!

No real weight loss this first month, kinda irritating but I hope to see some this next round.

Congrats JessD! This is so interesting, I was just thinking the same thing about weight loss but my clothes are getting looser and my face looks thinner so something must be changing, right?

I'm on week 4 tomorrow and am seriously so much stronger than just I was before I started. I still can't do pull ups but I have increased all reps to 20 and increased the pounds on my bands to 25lbs. More than anything I see the difference in my push-ups because I now breeze through them.

I don't know what the next circuit will bring me but so far I'm doing ok.

Anyone else out there still going? How are you doing?

I look forward to an update after you start the double workout. Way to go! I have to admit that I did not lose much weight on the scale, but my body shape changed. It is just like DisneyBamaFan said; you are building muscle. DH kept telling me not to be discouraged by looking at the scale each day. I finally stopped doing that. I started noticing the inches and body shape. That is where I really noticed the difference. Now I rarely weigh on the scale.
I was not able to do my workouts last week because DD had driver's ed. I just finished my workout this morning. It felt so good to get back at it!

Keep up the great work everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoo hoo! I'm glaf someone bumped this one back up! I've been doing P90X Lean (with a bit of cheating.... I HATE the Yoga DVD, so I just use that as a second rest day).

In any case, Today is day 30. I've lost 8 lbs, and pretty much about 2 inches off my waist, hips, and butt area, plus an inch off of each thigh. So I'm fairly stoked this morning! Here's hoping to see more change in the next 2 months!

Today is my first day of Phase 2, doing Double P90X. I woke up this morning at 4:00 to do the Cardio so I would have time to get ready for work after. I must say, I feel pretty energized after working out this morning. LOL, I know, easy to say after just one time but I am hoping it will last and I can keep it up.

If you hate the Yoga routine, replace it with the Core Synergistics workout. This is also a great workout for maintenance after you finish the series... :thumbsup2

I'm so glad to hear all these positive reviews of the P90X program. I finally took the plunge and ordered it over the weekend. I am in pretty decent cardiovascular shape. My husband and I recently completed Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge. But after all the running, I need to mix things up a bit. And I'm looking to increase my total body fitness. So excited to read how things go for everyone. I'm ready to jump on in!
