Thanks Breick for that great bit of info and to Bama Ed for links to story.
Made me think of my favorite interaction with Miss Josephine. It was in 2011 nd my wife and had gone down for dinner soon after our arrival. This was wife's first trip ever but I had been to Trails End and HDDR many many times in the past with my ex. When a table came free the Hostess told us Miss Josephine would show us to our table. I took one look at her and instant recognition. I promptly announced I wasn't going anywhere with her as she was mean. My wife to say the least was mortified. The hostess and other staff in a state of shock but after a moment or two told me I had to be mistaken.
Well I replied no it was true Miss Josephine is mean. Several years Earlier I had been to the HDDR and was wearing my 15 Year WDW anniversary Sweatshirt and that Miss Josephine had scolded me for wearing it and risking have something bad happen to it. Ever since that night I have kept it in a secure wrapper and when I do see it I think of the Lady who told me what a special item I had with a smile
We all had a good laugh and Miss Josephine even remembered that encounter and we shared a great hug. s
So happy tosee disney honor a woman who helped create such wonderful memories
I had thought about this for awhile now, but must have missed that thread. The Trail's End and the people there are special to my family. Even though we no longer have a camper, we eat at the Trail's End and walk the campground on almost every trip to WDW.
All 3 of them have been there a long time! I'll have to ask when I'm there, but it may have been since the Trail's End opened. Another long-timer, Edith/Edie retired a few years ago.
Miss Josephine was wonderful with our children two years ago taking the time to show them the baby bunnies in a nearby bush. I was hoping to see her last trip but we must have missed her. She is such a nice person!
