Owning at 2 resorts?

You guys are a great source for us newbies! Now let me get this right. If you buy at 2 resorts, say BWV and VWL, you have the 11 month option on both? And, can you use all the points interchangeably?

Yes, if you own at two resorts, you have the eleven month window at two resorts. You have the eleven month window for whatever number of points you own at that resort.

If you have 100 at OKW and 100 at bwv, at 11 months out you can make 100 points worth of reservations at BWV and 100 points worth at OKW. At 7 months out, you can make reservation for 200 points at either resort.
You only get the home resort advantage for point owned at that resort.

On thing that you can do, is to use banking and borrowing to have three years worth of points available with the eleven month advantage. Or you could borrow your second year's points from OKW, combune them with this years, have 200 with the eleven month advantage at OKW. You could then bank this year's BWV points. Next year you would have 200 points with the eleven month advantage at BWV. Alternating years and resorts, you could have all you points with the eleven month window every year at an alternating resort.

No, you only get the 11 month advantage for the points at each resort individually. Say you own 150 points at BWV and 100 at VWL...you can only book your 150 BWV points at BWV 11 months in advance and your 100 VWL points at VWL 11 months in advance. If you need to use BWV points at VWL you must wait until 7 months in advance of your trip....and vice versa.

Richy is right !!! Between banking and borrowing you can actually get 3 years worth of points in to one year, and not worry about loosing the 11 month home resort advantage at at either of the 2 resorts. That I think is a very important fact many multi-resort owners overlook.

While it remains true that the points at the second resort only have a 7 month booking priority if used to book at any other DVC resort other than itself, the banking and borrowing feature minimizes any need to do this.
